Veteran actor, Dharmendra's personal life has always been in the limelight, courtesy of his controversial life decisions and two marriages. The actor first married Prakash Kaur, who was just 19 years old at the time. The duo had four kids, Sunny, Bobby, Vijeta, and Ajeeta. However, the beautiful family went through major turbulence when Dharmendra got married for the second time.
It was in 1980 when Dharmendra changed his religion to get married to Hema Malini, despite being an already married man. If rumours are to be believed, it was alleged that Sunny Deol went fuming after the news of his father's second marriage reached him. He was so angry that he allegedly tried to stab Hema Malini with a knife for marrying Dharmendra. For the unversed, Sunny was 24 years old when Dharmendra married again, and it was also reported that he angrily called Hema Malini, the other woman in his father’s life.

Reacting to the rumours, in an interview with Stardust, Prakash Kaur mentioned that such claims were baseless. She added that every kid wants their father to love their mother the most, but that doesn't make them attack the other woman in the former's life. Prakash also shared how her sons have been brought up well and that they have good manners, which means they would never do anything that hurts someone. In her words:
“This is not true. Every kid wants his father to love his mom the most in the entire world. But this doesn’t mean he would attack if there is another woman who loves his father as well. I am not well-read or educated, but my kids believe I am the most beautiful woman in the entire world. I have raised my kids well, and they have inculcated good manners. I am very sure they will never do anything that hurts someone.”
After his second marriage to Hema Malini, Dharmendra became a dad to their daughters, Esha and Ahana Deol. Nevertheless, the actor didn't forget about his first set of children and, most importantly, his first wife, Prakash Kaur. In the same interview, Prakash had called Dharmendra a doting and responsible father to their kids despite not being a loyal husband to her. In her words:
“He may not be the best husband, though he is very good to me, but he is certainly the best father. His children love him a lot. He never neglects them. I don't know what people say about my and Dharmendra's relationship. All I know is that He takes great care of all of us. He comes home every evening and spends time with the children.”
