Priyanka Chopra has returned to the realm of musical notes after a long time. The Global icon made her comeback with a desi-fied reprise of Last Christmas by Wham! The all-time Christmas classic is a staple in the holiday stream list. However, the actress has brought her own twist to it as a part of the festive family film, Christmas Karma. The film is set to hit the big screens in the UK, Ireland, and the US on November 14, 2025. The film is directed by Gurinder Chadha, known for Bend It Like Beckham and the 2019 hit Blinded By The Light.

Priyanka Chopra's Christmas tunes have come almost a decade after her last major music release in 2014, I Can't Make You Love Me. She also lent her voice to several Bollywood film songs over the years, including Chaaro from Mary Kom (2014) and the title track of Dil Dhadakne Do (2015), before stepping away from music to focus on her acting career. However, it seems like the fans are not impressed by PeeCee's version of the epic song.

Several clips of Priyanka Chopra's version of Last Christmas are currently surfacing online, prompting several reactions. While some of them liked the song, others called it a 'parody' of the original. An Instagram user wrote, "She killed the song, and I mean literally murdered this beautiful song." While another user penned, "The bhangra in between is sending me to Mars." A commenter stated, "Is this a parody?"

An Instagram user took a hilarious hit at the actress and wrote, "Koi tu majburi rahi ho gi sayad?" A user penned, "I like her version." A user penned, "PC, are you okay?!" Another comment reads, "Lip sync bhi nahi ho raha aache se."

Talking to The Times of India, Priyanka reacted to her musical collaboration with Gurinder Chadha. The actress revealed that Gurinder is a great friend and an exceptional filmmaker who has attempted to push the Indian diaspora with 'honesty' and 'emotion'. She was quoted as saying:

"Gurinder Chadha is one of the few entertainment stalwarts who has continuously pushed Indian diaspora stories with great honesty and emotion. She is a great friend, and I am delighted to help her in my small way through Christmas Karma. I hope this desi take on a song that has long served as the soundtrack to Christmas for so many of us strikes a chord with listeners."
