The 8-episode web series has become the talk of the town, gaining a lot of attention from film critics and audiences alike. Many actors and directors from the industry have sent their heartwarming wishes and appreciation for the filmmaker. Now, Priyanka Chopra has joined the league.
Desi Girl and global icon, Priyanka Chopra has been living in the United States for a long time, with her husband singer, Nick Jonas and their daughter, Malti Marie. Despite that, she often shares her wishes or opinions on new releases in Bollywood. This time, she shared a story on her Instagram with a poster of Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, and extended her wishes for Sanjay Leela Bhansali. In the story, she wrote:
“I remember how much you wanted to make this.”

Further, she tagged the web series cast, including Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Shaikh, and Sharmin Segal Mehta, in the story. For those who don't know, this project had been on the mind of the Ram Leela director, for a long time, and he shared the idea with Priyanka with whom he shares a long history of professional collaboration. Earlier, Priyanka Chopra made a guest appearance in the song, Ram Chahe Leela for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's directorial, Ram Leela in 2013. In addition, the actress and the filmmaker collaborated on the film Bajirao Mastani film, where Priyanka played the supporting role of 'Kashibai'.
Priyanka Chopra has wrapped up her next project Heads Of State in Ireland. The actress had stayed away from working in Bollywood for a while, but her visit to India in March, gave air to the rumours that she might soon sign a new project in India. Reportedly, her visit focused on fulfilling work commitments, including script readings and meetings with a few filmmakers. However, it was the news that she held discussions with filmmaker, Sanjay Leela Bhansali to finalise an upcoming project that hooked the audiences.

The report further revealed that it may be an action-oriented project set in a different period. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known to nail the period drama genre with a strong vision, deep research, and meticulous execution. As the director and the actress have shared a close professional bond and appreciated each other on various occasions, it isn't a surprise that the actress has shown interest in the project and is currently discussing details such as timeline, schedule, and costumes. We will have to wait for the filmmaker to announce a project officially.
