Social media influencer, Gayatri Sharma, also known as TheGayuKitchen, won over the internet with her sweet voice and her unique way of presenting the food being served in the mess. The influencer rose to fame for her food videos in the hostel mess. However, a recent development left her entire fanbase confused. 

Gayu Kitchen takes down YouTube shorts and makes her Instagram account private

It was on May 18, 2025, when the netizens realised that Gayu Kitchen's Instagram handle was made private. The sudden move made by the influencer to make her Instagram account with almost 250K followers sparked concern among her fans. While there was no update from the mess or the influencer, fans have been coming up with reasons which might have led to the changes.

According to the netizens, the move is being speculated to be a result of a fallout between Gayatri Sharma and the authorities in the hostel where she works. However, Team BollywoodShaadis could not independently verify the claims. Nevertheless, the lack of clarification has left the netizens concerned.

Gayatri Sharma's last video before she made her Instagram page private left no clue for the netizens. The clip was her normal routine of showing the food prepared in the mess she runs in her trademark style. However, it should be noted that the video was posted days before the changes were made. Talking about her YouTube channel, Gayatri enjoys a massive 422K-plus subscribers. The last video on her channel was uploaded on April 27, 2025. It is also to be noted that while her mess-related shorts have been deleted, other clips still remain visible on her channel.

Netizens react to Gayu Kitchen going private

A user penned, "Also deleted all her mess shorts on YouTube, am worried khi mess walo ne toh kuch nhi bol diya unko." A comment read, "Omg, did anything happen." A user wrote, "I hope everything is okay." A commenter said, "WHAT WHY?" A user in a long note stated:

"If the mess people said something to her or the management fired her...she should speak up because the quality of the food and the recent brand promotions she was getting were beneficial for the people eating there because they were getting to eat whatever product the brand was giving her. I hope the best for her, and she should know that without those mess videos, too, she'll do great with her food content."

Who is Gayatri Sharma?

Gayatri Sharma is a social media influencer who runs a food mess in Delhi. She rose to fame for her food preparation videos for the residents, with her unique style of showing each dish. Her 'pyaare pyaare rice' became her trademark, and her sweet way of ending the video with 'I love you all', gained her a massive fanbase. Gayatri grew up in an orphanage in Haryana named SOS Children's Village.

Gayatri has had several stints, including security guard, clothing store and food joint worker, earning as little as Rs. 12 an hour, according to her interview with Better India. However, things changed for her when she joined an NGO as a mess manager and started vlogging her journey. Her videos soon went viral, making the mess a model of cleanliness and hygiene.
