In a recent interview, Rani shared a heartfelt conversation she had with her nine-year-old daughter, Adira, just before the National Awards ceremony. The Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway actress mentioned that Adira was quite upset after knowing that she couldn’t accompany her mother to the special event. Rani stated that, according to the rules and regulations, children under the age of 14 were not permitted to attend the event. However, being a doting mother, Rani assured Adira that although she couldn't come to the event, she would always be close to her heart and wore a pendant with Adira's name. She was quoted as saying:

"She was howling because she wanted to be part of the National Award function. We were told that children under 14 were not allowed. I had to tell her that you cannot be with me. She said it was ‘unfair’ that she couldn’t be with me on my special day. I asked her not to worry and told her that I will have you with me on my special day."
