Ranvir Shorey is an actor and former video jockey. He made his debut with Ek Chhoti Si Love Story in 2002. However, the actor rose to prominence with Jism. Nonetheless, his journey was anything but easy. He recently shared about his struggles and revealed how his father's ambition cost them their home.
Archana Puran Singh is back with another vlog, and this time, the comedian and actress spent a day with her friends, Ranvir Shorey and Vinay Pathak, and her husband, Parmeet Sethi. During their day out, the group visited various popular spots in Mumbai, including Juhu Beach and Prithvi Café. The group also reminisced about their struggling days in the industry.
In the shared vlog, Archana Puran Singh asked Ranvir and Vinay about their struggling days in the industry. Responding to Archana, Ranvir revealed that the biggest struggle he had to face was being homeless. He recalled that there wasn't a time when he couldn't afford food, but they were left without a place to live after his father sold their home. The actor revealed that his dad sold their home to produce a film, which left them homeless. However, he never faced food scarcity as even while they were living in a rented home, they would still eat mutton. He was quoted as saying:
"I never had such a struggle where I couldn’t afford food. The struggle we had was that we didn't have our own house to live in because Dad sold our house for a movie he was producing. So, from having a house, we were in a no-house situation, and then we shifted to a rented apartment. But food scarcity was never an issue. Hum bhade pe reh kar bhi mutton hi kha rahe the."
Vinay Pathak, who had also joined the group for the vlog, is an actor and theatre artist. He worked in several films and series, including Khosla Ka Ghosla, Bheja Fry and Island City, among others. He shared the screen with Ranvir Shorey in his 2003 erotic thriller, Jism. During the chat, Vinay revealed his struggles and shared that while there were days he didn't have any money, he never had to starve. He was quoted as saying:
"There were days when there was no money, but it was never like we hadn’t eaten for three days and our bodies had given up. There was always some way to fill our stomachs."
