Raveena Tandon Reveals Rasha Thadani Wanted To Be Ariana Grande In Her Childhood, 'Kisi Purani..'

Raveen Tandon is one of the most loved actresses in Bollywood, who is well-known for hit films like Andaz Apna Apna, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Ziddi and more. Recently, the Dilwale actress opened up about her daughter, Rasha Thadani's talent and her budding journey into the world of entertainment.

Recently, Raveena Tandon sat down for a candid conversation on The Right Angle with Sonal Kalra, in which she opened up about Rasha Thadani’s first dream as a child. She mentioned that the Azaad actress wanted to become Ariana Grande. She was quoted as saying:

"You know, it's very surreal because honestly we didn’t expect it. We did know that she had the keeda since childhood she used to say. I used to ask her ‘so what do you want to become?’ First her thing was I want to become Ariana Grande."

She continued to add that after Ariana, Rasha decided to become a rockstar and then gradually she shared that she wants to pursue acting. While talking about her acting and talent, Raveena revealed that Rasha has the soul of some legendary actor in herself. In her words:

"Then from Ariana Grande it became ‘I want to become a rockstar’. Then from a rockstar it became ‘you know what mom, I think I want to act’. I was like ‘oh, okay, we didn’t know’. So it was very sweet. But I think since she was a child, actually this is funny Sonal, I’ll be saying it on your show, I used to tell my mom isme naa kisi purani heroine ki aatma hai, Rasha mein."

Rasha Thadani enjoyed seeing her own expressions as a child

In the same interview, Raveena Tandon went on to share a sweet memory from Rasha’s childhood, in which she revealed that whenever Rasha used to cry, she used to stop crying when she was taken in front of a mirror. Raveena shared that in Rasha’s childhood, she used to enjoy watching her own expressions in the mirror. In her words:

"When she was a 3 month-4 month baby, if she used to cry, the minute she used to cry, we used to pick her up and show her the mirror, she used to stop crying and only keep looking at herself. The minute we used to move her away from the mirror, she used to start crying again. I used to tell my mom, Naani ji, yeh aapne naa, this is one purani heroine ki aatma who only wants to watch her expressions in the mirror all the time."

Rasha Thadani made headlines with her amazing debut in the 2025 film, Azaad, opposite Aaman Devgan, Ajay Devgn and Diana Penty. Although, the film received mixed reviews from fans and film critics, Rasha got a lot of love for her acting and dancing skills in the popular song, Uyi Amma. Reportedly, Rasha will be seen in the romantic-action film, Laikey Laikaa alongside Abhay Verma, which will be released in 2026.
