The love story of Rashami Desai and Nandish Sandhu was one of the most talked-about romances in the Indian television industry. The duo that first met as co-stars on the popular TV show, Uttaran, soon became one of the most loved pairs both on and off screen. Their journey from friendship to love and eventually marriage captured the attention of fans.
However, like many relationships, theirs too faced challenges behind the scenes. Despite their love and chemistry, maybe destiny had different plans for them as after a couple of years, the duo parted ways. As Nandish Sandhu recently got engaged to Kavita Banerjee, let's take a look at Rashami and Nandish's short-lived fairytale love story.
Rashami Desai and Nandish Sandhu's love story began on the sets of the popular television show, Uttaran. According to a report by India Forums, the two actors had a rocky start with frequent disagreements. However, as they spent more time together during shooting, their professional relationship blossomed into a personal one. Very soon, their on-screen chemistry turned into real-life romance and the duo got married.
While working for a TV serial, Uttaran, Rashami and Nandish shared a beautiful bond. After which, the duo was often spotted hanging out together for almost 6 to 7 months, until Nandish decided to propose to the actress.
In 2010, on Nandish’s birthday, the actor booked a yacht where he blindfolded Rashami and proposed to her in the middle of the sea. He gifted her a diamond ring and bent down on his knees to say the magical words. Rashami was surprised by his gesture and of course said yes! Later, this head over heels in love couple partied all night on the yacht with few close friends.

On February 12, 2011, Rashami and Nandish tied the knot in the actor's hometown, Dholpur in Rajasthan. Their wedding ceremony was a blend of traditional Hindu rituals, including sangeet, mehendi, and griha pravesh, which beautifully celebrated the ex-couple's happiness. Even though, they tried to keep their wedding private, it garnered attention from fans and media.
However, their marriage soon started facing issues and they headed for a divorce in 2014. They filed for a divorce in 2015, which got finalised in 2016. After their divorce, Nandish was linked to model, Ankita Shorey, but the actor denied it. On the other hand, Rashami dated Arhaan Khan, until she found out that he was already married to someone else.
Rashami and Nandish had given several interviews after their divorce, where they had spoken about collaborating again as co-stars. During interviews, both Rashami and Nandish had appreciated each other and said that if they get a good opportunity, they wouldn’t mind working together. In an old interview, Rashami spoke about Nandish as a co-star and was quoted as saying:
"He is one of the nicest co-stars that I have worked with. He’d give me space, allow me to improvise and constantly give me very helpful suggestions."
On October 9, 2025, Nandish Sandhu took to his Instagram account to announce his engagement with actress, Kavita Banerjee. Nandish shared a series of photos and captioned it as, "Hi Partner. Ready?" Later, Kavita took to her Instagram stories to share a beautiful picture of her engagement and captioned it as, "05/09/2025."
Rashami Desai, who was born on February 13, 1986, in Assam is a popular face of the Indian television and film industry. She began her acting career in regional films and then made her TV debut with Raavan. Rashami became a household name with the serial, Uttaran, which aired from 2009 to 2014. Later, she participated in reality shows like Zara Nachke Dikha 2, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5, Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 6 and Nach Baliye 7.
She also tried her luck in comedy with Comedy Circus Mahasangram, Comedy Ka Maha Muqabala, Kahaani Comedy Circus Ki and Comedy Nights Live. In 2019, Rashami appeared as a strong contestant in Bigg Boss 13. Recently, she appeared in shows like Naagin 4, Naagin 6 and also made her OTT debut with Tamas. In October 2025, she made headlines, when she shared her weight loss journey.
Even though, Rashami and Nandish are no longer together, their love story remains one of the most talked-about journeys of Indian television. While their marriage didn’t last, the duo has moved forward, building successful careers and new beginnings.
