Rekha Ignored Akshay Kumar, While Hugged Abhishek Bachchan, Is It Due To Their Alleged '90s Affair?

Rekha is known for her immense acting skills and the way she chose to live life on her own terms. While she received a lot of backlash for openly loving a married man, Amitabh Bachchan, she never paid any heed to it. However, for the first time, we spotted her other side, wherein she ignored her past completely. Yes, Rekha was rumoured to be in love with Akshay Kumar. When, after years, their paths crossed, Rekha completely ignored Akshay Kumar, leaving him uncomfortable.

Rekha graced the HT Lifestyle Award and was greeted by Shikhar Dhawan and Akshay Kumar, who graced the stage at the same time. While Akshay tried to be cordial, Rekha didn't even look at him; instead, she shook hands with Shikhar. Akshay looked visibly uncomfortable at the way he was ignored. 

Further, we spotted Abhishek Bachchan running up to the stage to greet Rekha. She gave him a warm hug and the two indulged in a quick chat. It was a heart-melting moment to see Rekha shower love on Abhishek.

Netizens were quick to notice the way Rekha ignored Akshay. One user wrote, "Rekha ne Itana zor daar ignore kiya to pata chalta hai ki Affair kitna kharab tuta hoga." Another one commented, "Lmaoo that awkward moment for Akshay." A third user penned, "The way Rekha ignored Akshay Kumar, it's proved that they had a pad, while Shilpa shetty is like let bygones be bygones.

Rekha and Akshay Kumar were once had an affair

It was in the late '90s when reports were rife that Rekha and Akshay were romancing in real life. In 1996, the buzz intensified. However, it was Raveena who dismissed the buzz and made a shocking revelation against Rekha. Raveena claimed in an interview with Cine Blitz that she and Akshay were dating in 1995, and the buzz of his romance with Rekha started in 1996.

Raveena even went on to say that there was no truth to the story and that it was Akshay who wanted to run away from her. She stated that the two only had professional terms, and Akshay only tolerated her because of the film. She further shared that Rekha even went on to offer lunch dabbas for him from her home. She was quoted as saying:

"I don't think Akshay ever had anything to do with Rekha. As a matter of fact, he would run away from her. Akshay tolerated Rekha because of the film. At one point she wanted to get lunch dabbas for him from home. That's when I put my foot down. I felt it was taking things a bit too far."
