Rhea Chakraborty was snapped a few hours ago outside the Narcotics Control Bureau office in Mumbai for the third round of interrogation. She had made a big allegation against the late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput yesterday, on September 7, 2020, at the second round of questioning by the NCB. According to the latest development in Sushant's case, on September 8, 2020, Rhea Chakraborty has been arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). Her arrest has been made under various charges of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. She will be taken to Sion hospital for a medical test following her arrest, according to News18. Sushant's sister, Shweta Singh Kirti reacted to the news by sharing a screengrab of it on her IG handle. Alongside it, she wrote, "#GodIsWithUs." According to a Times Now report, during the second round of interrogation by the NCB, Sushant Singh Rajput's girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty alleged him of forcing her to do drugs with him. Earlier, Rhea had given the statement that she used to procure drugs for Sushant but had never consumed any herself. Rhea was confronted with her brother, Showik by the NCB officials. She has now changed her statement and has said that Sushant forced her to do drugs.
In other news, on September 7, 2020, Rhea Chakraborty had filed an FIR against Sushant's sisters, Meetu Singh and Priyanka Singh with the Mumbai Police at Bandra Police station. In her FIR, Rhea had claimed that Sushant's sisters, Priyanka Singh and Meetu Singh, a Delhi-based doctor, Tarun Kumar and others had obtained false prescription on the letterhead of a government hospital for banned medicines and had administered the same to Sushant without supervising doses. This had ultimately become the reason for Sushant's death.
According to ETimes, Sushant's family lawyer, Vikas Singh recently addressed the media in regards to the FIR filed by Rhea and said, "We will take strong action to ensure that the accused doesn't succeed in deflecting the trial just to save herself." According to reports published in the Times of India, Rhea's FIR has been registered under sections of IPC and Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Reacting to the same, Sushant's sister, Shweta Singh Kirti took to her Twitter handle and wrote, "Nothing's gonna break us, definitely not this fake FIR!" In yet another press conference by Sushant Singh Rajput's family's lawyer, Vikas Singh, he talked in detail about Rhea Chakraborty's FIR and said, "Today an FIR has been registers by the Mumbai Police. The Bandra Police station is like her second home. The FIR registered by the Bandra Police is a clear violation of the Supreme Court order. This FIR is a clear violation of the Supreme Court proceedings. Moreover, there is another judgment which says that whenever an FIR is being registered against a Doctor, a medical team shall be constituted and only after that such a step can be taken. We won't let this FIR go further and would take appropriate action and recourse available in law."
Before that, According to reports by Times Now, Rhea Chakraborty's brother, Showik Chakraborty had confessed that he had procured drugs for his sister. A confession from Showik was made to Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) after they had made an intervention in the probe after Enforcement Directorate (ED) had found some suspicious drug-related chats.
