Rupali Ganguly Breaks Down After Attending Satish Shah's Funeral, Died Due To Kidney Failure

Satish Shah breathed his last on October 25, 2025, at the age of 74. According to reports, he succumbed to death due to kidney-related ailments. While he is survived by his wife, Madhu, his on-screen family of Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai is left in deep pain, which was visible during his funeral.

On October 26, 2025, Satish Shah's funeral was organised. Several celebrities, whose lives were touched by the presence of Satish, attended the last rites to pay him tribute. However, it was Rupali Ganguly who was left heartbroken. She was seen exiting the place in her car and covering her face while crying out. Sumeet Raghav, Jackie Shroff, Dilip Joshi and Ali Asgar were also present there to bid the veteran actor last goodbye.

Satish Shah's manager, Ramesh Kadatala shared details of his final moments in an interaction with the ANI. He revealed that Satish Shah was having lunch at 2 or 2:45 pm. He collapsed after taking the first bite of the food. The ambulance took half an hour to reach them. After reaching the hospital, the doctor declared him dead. He shared:

"Kal lunch karte samaye hua tha. Vo khana khate ek niwala khaya fir collapse hua. Kuch half an hour laga ambulance lane mein.. Hospital jaane par declare kra doctor ne."

Satish Shah's neighbour, Anup, revealed that when Ramesh reached them for help, they did their best to save him. He revealed how Satish had a big heart, and everyone came running to his help during his last moments. Anup revealed that Satish underwent a kidney transplant in June in Kolkata, West Bengal. He was healthy after the transplant and got a little urine infection, which was taken under control with medications.

For the unversed, Satish Shah underwent a kidney transplant earlier this year to take care of his ailing wife, Madhu. Actor and filmmaker, Sachin Pilgaonkar, in a media interaction, revealed that Satish Shah underwent a kidney transplant to extend his wife's life. He added that his wife is also not well as she has been suffering from Alzheimer's. The 74-year-old actor had been on dialysis. Sachin was quoted as saying:

"He got a kidney transplant only to extend his wife’s life. Unfortunately, even Madhu isn’t well. She has Alzheimer’s. This year, Satish got his kidney transplanted. He wanted to extend his life so that he could take care of Madhu. He was on dialysis. Earlier, he underwent a bypass surgery, which was successful."

The actor also revealed that his wife, Supriya, visited the late actor three days before his death. Satish Shah played some music and Supriya danced with his wife, Madhu, who recalled how she would dance on cha-cha-cha. Sachin also revealed that he received a text from Satish Shah at 12:56 p.m., just a few hours before his sudden death. He said:

"Satish and I would keep exchanging texts. In fact, I received a message from him at 12:56 pm today, which means he was absolutely fine even at that time. That I’m in shock is an understatement."
