Saba Azad is an actress, theatre director and musician. She is part of the electro-funk duo, Madboy/Mink. The actress made her big Bollywood debut in a 2008 indie film, Dil Kabaddi. However, she has been facing a lot of negativity since she went public about her relationship with actor, Hrithik Roshan.
Saba Azad has often faced the ugly side of social media because of her recent relationship, with Hrithik Roshan. The actress-singer has been trolled for simply being actor, Hrithik Roshan's girlfriend. However, she has never hesitated to clap back at the trolls and faced the negative comments as they come.
Now, in a recent interview with SCREEN, Saba has opened up about how she has developed a 'thick skin' over time and remains unfazed by online trolling. During the conversation, Saba Azad revealed that while it bothered her initially, she has now developed a thick skin for it. She added that while she tries not to care about the trolls, it still gets to her sometimes. She stated:
"Now, I have developed a thick skin for it. I may have turned the other cheek for a long time, but once in a while, I feel that I still have some bite. You can't keep coming at me and expect me to stay mum. I don’t care what such people say now."
In the same conversation, Saba Azad, who has often been a soft target for trolls, revealed that she doesn't let the negativity affect her mentally. She revealed that she is not good with social media and shares a complicated relationship as she is a performing artist, and in these times, an artist's social media is seen as their portfolio. She added that as the dissatisfaction grows, so does the trolling. She was quoted saying:
"I am quite terrible with social media. I post for three days in a row, then disappear for a month. In a way, for performing artists, it has become a sort of portfolio. It’s a 'Can't live with, can't live without' kind of relationship. It is a means to earn a living with brands and ads. Outside of that, as the dissatisfaction of the population rises, so does this kind of behaviour online."
In the same conversation, Saba Azad opened up about her stance on social media trolls. She stated that if someone were happy with their own life, they wouldn't make fake accounts and troll people. She then questioned why she should care about someone faceless, nameless and frustrated with their own life. She stated:

"If you are a happy person, you won’t make fake accounts and troll people. Why would I care about someone from back and beyond who is faceless, nameless, and frustrated with their lives? Instead of being angry about it, another way of looking at it is, 'I am sad that you have to do this.' In the beginning, I was like, if I am minding my own business, why do you care? But then, as I wrap my head around it, this is just sad, and it’s not worth losing sleep over."
