Saif Ali Khan Attack: Accused Shariful's Facial Recognition Test Report Out, His Father To Protest

The shocking attack on Saif Ali Khan has left netizens in shock. Since the January 16, 2025 incident, fans have been praying fo the actor's well-being and have kept an eye on every new update in the case's investigation. After a few days of the incident, police had released a CCTV image of the accused and three-days later arrested Shariful Islam, a Bangladeshi national from Thane. To prove his role in the case, the cops did a facial recognition test, and the report left everyone stunned. 

Shariful Islam's Facial Test Recognition Test report goes viral 

Mumbai Police recently conducted a Facial Recognition Test of Shariful Islam to investigate his role in Saif Ali Khan's stabbing case. Consequently, News 18 reported that its result is positive, seemingly confirming his role in the case. The new proof will be a piece of key evidence for the police in the case that will help them prove that Shariful was the one who broke into Saif's residence and possibly stabbed him. 

On the other hand, the police approached a Mumbai court to seek the police custody of Shariful Islam. They reported that the accused is yet to clarify who helped him enter India illegally, and they had sent a special team to investigate the truth behind his statements in Kolkata. However, the court explained that Shariful would be kept in judicial remand due to a lack of potential evidence against him. At the same time, the Bandra magistrate highlighted that the application submitted by the Mumbai Police gave no new evidence to justify why the court should extend his custody. 

Shariful Islam's father to protest in India's HC

Mumbai Police is still investigating Shariful Islam's involvement in the case in India. On the other hand, his father, Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, has stated in the media that he will visit the Indian High Commission to protest against the arrest of his son in India. As per News 18's sources, his father has alleged that the Mumbai police is purposely trying to frame his son and falsely prove his involvement in the case. Earlier, his father mentioned that the suspect in the viral CCTV footage isn't his son. He said: 

"From what is shown in the CCTV... my son never keeps his hair long. I believe my son is being framed."

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor have strengthened security measures in their home 

After Saif Ali Khan was stabbed by an intruder in his residence, concerns about the safety of stars and loopholes in the security measures at his home made headlines. However, Saif and Kareena have now decided to increase the security measures at their home. Videos of grills being installed on their home's balcony went viral, and they even hired Ronit Roy's security agency. Moreover, a report in Times Of India revealed that the couple's team held a special meeting with the paparazzi in Mumbai on January 28, 2025, and asked them not to click their kids, Taimur and Jeh's photo randomly and urged them to avoid gathering at the Satguru Sharan apartment in Bandra.
