The Pataudi household endured a terrifying ordeal on the night of January 16, 2025, when Saif Ali Khan was attacked by a burglar. The actor was stabbed multiple times during an attempted burglary at his Bandra residence in the early hours of Thursday, leaving the whole industry in a state of shock. Saif was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, having to undergo emergency surgery. Now, what is alleged to be a hospital bill is making rounds on social media.
While the actor’s health updates brought some relief, a leaked hospital bill has sparked a fresh wave of discussions online. The unverified document which has been circulating online shows an initial billing request of Rs. 35,98,700 against an approved claim of Rs. 2.5 crore. According to the bill, Saif's medical expenses reportedly amount to Rs. 25 lakh for just two days of treatment. However, the source of the bill has yet to be verified to know its credibility.
In the early hours of January 16, 2025, Mumbai Police released CCTV images of an unidentified man fleeing Saif Ali Khan’s apartment building at 2:33 am. The suspect, dressed in a t-shirt, jeans, and an orange scarf, was seen carrying a backpack and running down the stairwell. Khan's team confirmed an attempted burglary at the actor’s residence. The following day, headlines reported the police detaining a key suspect, with a viral video showing him being escorted into the Bandra police station. However, authorities have yet to confirm if this individual matches the person captured in the CCTV footage from the night of the stabbing.
Saif Ali Khan is now admitted to Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital and is currently out of danger, but he is under constant observation. The actor has been shifted from the ICU to a private room and is expected to be discharged by January 21, 2025. Earlier today, Saif’s medical team shared details from the fateful night, recalling how the Nawab held his head high despite the unimaginable pain. Dr Niraj Uttamani, the Chief Operating Officer of Lilavati Hospital, revealed he was the first one to meet Saif Ali Khan when he came to the hospital. He told the press:
“Saif acted very boldly…He did not even take the stretcher… He was drenched in blood, but he walked in like a lion with his small child, Taimur. Saif Ali Khan is a real hero. He is doing well. He has been shifted from the ICU to a normal room."
Recently, the auto driver who drove Saif to the hospital that night recalled the horrifying moment and being a witness to the high-profile attack. He recalled how he did not realise the gravity of the situation until Saif himself walked towards him. The 47-year-old driver shared:

"He walked towards me himself; a small child was with him. He was in an injured state, and I just had to get him to the hospital quickly. We reached the hospital in eight to ten minutes."
