Will Salman Khan Host 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' After Amitabh Bachchan Leaves? Here's What We Know

Amitabh Bachchan and Kaun Banega Crorepati have become synonyms for each other in the past two decades. The quiz show, which first aired in 2000 has changed the face of reality shows with its success since its first season. Not only did it keep the families hooked on the TV screens, but it also gave a significant opportunity to Amitabh Bachchan, who revived his career with the show. With his deep voice and dignified presence, the megastar became the soul of the show, and every year, audiences wait to watch him come back on the small screen and host contestants on the hot seat. However, a recent news report has now revealed that Amitabh Bachchan might leave the show, leaving the path for a new superstar to take his place. 

Salman Khan might replace Amitabh Bachchan as the host of Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 

Now in what could be a major shift, Bollywood Hungama has reported that Amitabh Bachchan might not return to host Kaun Banega Crorepati season 17. Instead, Bollywood superstar, Salman Khan, who has proved himself as one of the most successful hosts on the small screen, might replace him. The source claimed that Salman Khan has already begun talks with the makers of the quiz show, and if both the parties reach an agreement then he could be soon announced as the new host of the Kaun Banega Crorepati 17. The source said:

"Salman Khan is the king of the small screen, and the best face to replace Amitabh Bachchan is him, as he also has a strong connection with the audience in the smaller centres. Shah Rukh Khan has also hosted KBC, and if everything goes well, Salman will be the newest to take the television sets by storm."

The report further shared that Big B can reportedly quit KBC after hosting it for more than 25 years due to some 'personal reasons'. Consequently, Salman might now be seen in a new role. Another news portal, News 18 Showsha tried to reach out to Sony TV's team for a statement on the news report, but they did not comment on it

Amitabh Bachchan was featured in the video promo for Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 

Amid the news reports about Amitabh Bachchan quitting Kaun Banega Crorepati 17, it is important to know that on April 4, 2025, Sony TV released the promos for the upcoming season. In the video, Amitabh Bachchan was seen playing the role of a patient with stomach ache to reveal that he is coming back with a new season of KBC. He also announced that registration for the upcoming season had started through the Sony LIV app, SMS, or IVR calls. However, no premiere date of the show has been announced. Some new reports have claimed that KBC is set to go on air in August 2025. So, it will be important to see who gets to host the new season of the iconic game show.
