Samantha Ruth Prabhu Recommended Kiara Advani, Kriti Sanon For Citadel Due To Health Condition

Samantha Ruth Prabhu has created a niche for herself with her work in Yashoda , the latest being Raj & DK's Citadel: Honey Bunny, with Varun Dhawan. Samantha, known for her versatile acting chops, played a spy in the action thriller. She had to perform high-octane scenes, but behind the camera, she was fighting an autoimmune condition called Myositis that had impacted her well-being. The actress had requested Raj and DK to consider Kiara Advani and Kriti Sanon for her role.

Samantha, in a recent interview with Galatta India, shared that she was not confident shooting for Citadel: Honey Bunny . She had requested Raj & DK the names of Kriti and Kiara, for her role because Samantha doubted her ability to do action and stunt because of Myositis. Samantha also felt that people would not like her acting skills and would make fun of her and asked the makers to consider either Kriti or Kiara. In her words:

"I actually sent them Kiara's pictures and Kriti's pictures. I remember sending four to them, saying 'Oh my God, she is so hot. Just look at her. She will be amazing doing action. Please, I can't do it. "

In the same interview, Samantha also mentioned that her health condition and the circumstances she was in had taken a massive toll on her health. Because of it, she was also hospitalised. She had zero hopes of doing the action series and wanted the makers to choose another heroine. However, Raj and DK told her that they knew who Kriti and Kiara were and she need not take the pain to introduce them. The makers were sure to take Samantha on board and knew she would heal, so they waited. The Shakuntala actress called the makers of her life jackets.

Samantha pushed her boundaries in Citadel: Honey Bunny , a prequel to Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden's Citadel by the Russo Brothers. Samantha shared screen space with Varun Dhawan, Kay Kay Menon, and Saqib Saleem. Her fans lauded her performance as she was seen in hard-hitting action scenes.

Samantha's shooting process for the action series with Varun was not smooth. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Varun revealed two instances when he was shooting with the actress, and his heart sank. He was so worried because he remembered one day when they were shooting, she just shut her eyes. Varun quipped:

"We kept shooting for about two hours and after a short while, an oxygen tank is coming and she is taking oxygen on the side."

In 2022, the actress was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition that reportedly causes inflammation of the muscles. Despite being diagnosed with a serious health condition, the actress has been stubborn and determined to focus on her profession, hence being a milestone example for her fans and her co-stars.
