Embracing parenthood is one of the most wonderful phases for a woman. And ace tennis player, Sania Mirza and her cricketer husband, Shoaib Malik are living that wonderful phase with their three-month-old son, Izhaan Mirza Malik. But throughout Sania’s nine months journey of pregnancy, there was one constant in her life who was with her all the time and it was her baby sister, Anam Mirza. From playing a friendly tennis match to fulfilling her midnight pregnancy cravings, Anam made sure she is by her sister, Sania’s side all the time. Even after the birth of Izhaan, Anam can be seen accompanying the newbie mother-son duo, wherever they go. For the first time ever, Anam has now made her debut on small screen with Sania, on The Kapil Sharma Show. Sania and Anam can be seen twinning in striped outfits as they feature on the show together for the first time. Sharing some glimpses from the sets, Sania and Anam posted some pictures and videos as their Insta story. Izhaan too accompanied his mommy and khala on the show but was sleeping backstage.

Ever since Izhaan’s birth, Sania and Shoaib have been teasing their fans with little glimpses of their little bundle of joy. Finally, on December 22, 2018, Shoaib and Sania treated their fans with a full picture of their Baby Mirza Malik, Izhaan, and captioned his pic as, “Living life in the fast lane can be fun! It’s time to say hello to the world”. Here’s the little one’s first picture:
Sharing a heartfelt note about how parenthood feels, Sania wrote on Instagram, “So it’s been 5 days since we came into this world .. Me as a mother and my little Izhaan as my son we’ve even watched Baba play some cricket together since we’ve arrived it truly is the biggest match, tournament achievement I’ve ever won or had and there is no feeling or blessing that can be greater than this.. I finally have gotten sometime after this overwhelming feeling to get online and check the msgs and love we have received. Shoaib and I feel truly blessed and humbled with the wishes and love that we as parents and Izhaan have received Thank you to each and every one of you ..we love you right back! Love Sania, Shoaib and Izhaan @realshoaibmalik #Allhamdulillah”. (Also Read: Sania Mirza Talks About Becoming Mother To Izhaan Mirza Malik, Her Pregnancy Journey And Much More)
In an interview with Femina, when asked, “Was your pregnancy experience what you had expected?”, Sania retorted, “The experience was good—it was overwhelming and different. I think, as women, we underestimate our bodies and what they can do, and I had that self-realisation. I feel privileged that I was able to go through it. I had a decently easy pregnancy if there is such a thing.”
If she missed tennis and being in action, first with the knee injury and then the pregnancy, Sania clarified, “Of course, I miss being away from tennis and playing. With the knee, I was out of action for a few months and I had thought that I would go back as soon as it healed. But then we decided to have a baby. I think that mentally I was prepared for this long gap, and at the end of the day, in life, you should experience everything. That said, yes, I do miss tennis and that’s why you saw me playing occasionally even during my pregnancy.”
Sania Mirza didn’t keep herself away from the tennis court till the seventh month of her pregnancy. When asked what kept her active and fit, Sania shared, “I played tennis. I did yoga three to four times a week. I walked, almost three to four kilometres a day. I tried to stay as active as possible. That’s the message I wanted to give out as well. It’s important for women to be active during pregnancy, as long as there are no medical complications or they haven’t been advised against it. It was getting tougher to stay as active late into the pregnancy, but I still tried to walk a few kilometres every day, and practise yoga.” (Also Read: Sania Mirza Shares Blissful Moment Of Cuddling Son Izhaan Mirza Malik After Coming Back From Work)
