Hollywood divorces are rarely private, and often less peaceful. When a longtime couple splits, the resulting divorce and custody battle often spills out of the courtroom to the media, and something similar is happening with Scott Wolf and his ex-wife, Kelley. What began as a quiet separation between the duo after two decades of marriage has led to police drama, arrest and leaked text messages. Amid this messy drama, a report has now confirmed that an emergency hearing has been scheduled in their custody battle and here's what might happen there.
Scott Wolf and Kelley's messy custody battle has turned uglier after a latest development suggested that the latter was arrested on August 26, 2025. TMZ revealed that the incident took place in Summit County, Utah, after Kelley, 48, was booked under the criminal charges of electronic communication harassment and electronic disclosure of personal identifying information. The police are yet to share all the details of the incident, but Kelley had taken to her Instagram handle and claimed that she was 'scared and confused' over her detention.
Under US law, electronic harassment can carry criminal penalties ranging from fines to jail time based on the seriousness of the conduct. According to US Weekly, an emergency hearing has been scheduled for August 28, 2025, after Scott filed for a protective order. While it is not confirmed what could happen due to diverse legal possibilities, the court will decide on Kelley's punishment. It can even impose tighter protective orders against Kelley to reduce or stop her communication with Scott and their children even further. Further, there is a possibility that her parental rights could be more strictly limited if they believe her actions can pose a threat to the kids.
The arrest and emergency court hearing comes after Kelley took to her Instagram handle and shared screenshots of her text exchange with Scott. In one message, Scott allegedly begged Kelley to stop scaring their children and wrote, "I'm begging you to leave them alone. You are torturing them. Miller called me sobbing from what you said to him. He's terrified." While Kelley clapped back with sarcasm and replied she would wait ‘500 feet away… smoking' while he 'grew up.' The text exchanges fueled public debate, with some siding with Scott's plea to protect the kids. In contrast, others questioned whether the estranged couple's private drama should be made public at all.
This arrest is the latest development in a long, messy divorce battle between Scott Wolf and Kelley. For those unaware, the couple's marriage ended in June after 21 years together. The court records showed that Scott was granted temporary sole physical custody of their three children, Jackson, 16, Miller, 12, and Lucy, 16. The decision came after he claimed that Kelley's behaviour posed an 'immediate and irreparable' threat. On the other hand, Kelley was given limited contact through supervised visits and scheduled video calls. The judge also asked both parents not to discuss divorce details in front of their children and appointed a therapist as a safe space for the kids.
