Fashion designer, Seema Sajdeh got married to actor, Sohail Khan in 1998. Soon, they became proud parents to their sons, Nirvaan and Yohan. However, after 24 years of marital bliss, they got separated. The ex-couple filed for divorce on May 13, 2022. Seema Sajdeh, who is known for her stint in the Netflix reality show, Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives, recently opened up about the early days of her romance with her ex-husband, Sohail Khan, and revealed how she dealt with her insecurities at that age.

During her interaction with Shivani Pau on her podcast, Seema Sajdeh recalled the early days of her love story with her ex-husband, Sohail Khan. Reflecting on the same, she shared that she first met Sohail at actor, Chunky Panday's engagement with Bhavana Panday, which was followed by a whirlwind romance. Talking about the same, she shared:

“I actually met Sohail at Bhavana and Chunky’s engagement and it was a whirlwind romance and then we got married.”

Seema Sajdeh on why she eloped with Sohail Khan at the age of 22

Seema further added that she had just turned 22 back then, and she decided to elope with Sohail one night after knowing him for only three months. Revealing the reason behind taking such a huge step in her life, she shared that her parents had different plans for her, and they didn't want her to get married so soon. Seema was quoted as saying:

“I had known Sohail for maybe three months and coming from this world where my parents did not want me to get married, they had other plans for me. I just kind of got up and eloped in the middle of the night.”

Seema Sajdeh recalls being insecure about her husband surrounded by beautiful women

When asked if she was affected by the world of limelight and if it impacted her mental health in any way, Seema shared that she had her share of insecurities at that time. Elaborating on the same, she mentioned that she was affected by how her husband, Sohail, was surrounded by beautiful women all the time, so she shifted her focus to having kids with him. In her words:

“Being exposed to so much judgement, and of course, your husband is constantly with a lot of beautiful women, surrounded by them all the time. I was 22. You don’t know anything when you are 22. You have so many insecurities. I felt a lot of pressure in the beginning and then I shifted all that focus into wanting kids.”

Seema Sajdeh on the overwhelming experience of being a Khan bahu

For the unversed, Sohail Khan is the son of veteran writer, Salim Khan, and brother of Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan. At the time of Sohail's wedding, Arbaaz was happily married to Malaika Arora. In the same interview, Seema shared how being married into a family, full of famous celebrities, made her insecure. Recalling how she constantly questioned herself, Seema described this time in her life as daunting and revealed that she was quite overwhelmed by the experience. She said:

“I had a bunch of insecuriteis. Was I good enough? Did I look good enough? I used to question myself and you are surrounded by all of these famous people and then good looking people.” 

On the work front, Seema Sajdeh will next be seen in the third season of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives.
