The Bollywood film industry has been ruled by the three Khans for decades. Starting as debutants in the early 90s, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, and Shah Rukh Khan's career trajectories ran parallel. However, their family backgrounds and their first step into Bollywood have been very different. Salman and Aamir are both star-kids, while Shah Rukh stepped into the industry with no personal connections. At an event, Salman talked about this fact, but Shah Rukh made a small correction.
The three Khans shared the stage at the Joy Forum in Riyadh. While talking about the Indian film industry, Salman said that both he and Aamir come from film backgrounds. For the unversed, the Ek Tha Tiger actor is the son of Salim Khan, veteran screenwriter who is known to be the brain behind cult-classics such as Sholay, Deewaar, and more. Meanwhile, Aamir Khan's father and uncle, Tahir Hussain and Nasir Hussain, were both film producers and directors. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan's father was a freedom fighter turned businessman and had no ties to the film industry.
At the event, Salman Khan talked about this fact and stated that Shah Rukh came from Delhi to Mumbai and struggled. However, the Swades actor corrected him and said that he does have a film family. Shah Rukh Khan in his sweet and witty way stated that both Salman and Aamir's family are his family. The actor was quoted as saying:
"May I interrupt, Salman? Sorry. I also come from a film family. Salman's family is my family, and Aamir's family is my family. That's why I'm a star."
This reply of Shah Rukh drew loud cheers from the audience. Salman and Aamir laughed as well, with the latter joking that's how Shah Rukh became a star. And he agreed with the PK actor.

Aamir Khan's debut film was the mega blockbuster, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, in 1988, with Juhi Chawla. Shah Rukh Khan made his film debut in Deewana, starring opposite Divya Bharti. Meanwhile, Salman Khan's debut in a lead role was in the superhit Maine Pyaar Kiya with Bhagyashree. All three Khans' debut films were released around the early 90s and were mega-successful. These films made them stars overnight. As their careers and stardom started together, these three superstars have often been each other's rivals, with their fandoms often clashing with each other.
Along their extensive careers in the film industry, there have also been periods when relations between the three Khans had soured. Shah Rukh and Salman's fight, which went on for five years, is one of the most well-known feuds of Bollywood. There was also a time when Aamir's remarks on Shah Rukh had created tension between the two. Salman and Aamir had also once vowed never to work with each other again after Andaz Apna Apna. However, the three megastars of Bollywood have left their feuds in the past and are often seen interacting with each other.
