'Surprised' Shah Rukh Khan Introduces Himself As 'Foreign Media' Fails To Recognise Him At Met Gala

Shah Rukh Khan feared waking up one day and his fans disappearing. Well, his nightmare will never get true as there is a section of people, who love him extremely. But Shah Rukh faced a little setback when 'foreign media' failed to recognise him at Met Gala 2025. For the unversed, it was Shah Rukh's debut appearance at the prestigious event globally. Also, he is the first Indian actor to make history with his appearance at Met Gala.

Shah Rukh Khan was taken aback as foreign media asked him to introduce himself

Shah Rukh Khan made his jaw-dropping appearance at Met Gala 2025, dressed up in Sabyasachi Mukherjee ensemble. He wore his 'King' aura on his sleeves, and oh boy, it was magical. However, there was a moment which left King Khan visibly uncomfortable as foreign media failed to recognise Shah Rukh Khan. 

In a clip that has been going viral, Shah Rukh was seen approaching a journalist after walking on the blue carpet. The journalist asked him to introduce himself as he didn't have any idea. It left Shah Rukh, a bit startled, but he quickly replied, "Hi, I'm Shah Rukh Khan." The person further asked him to introduce his designer, Sabyasachi Mukherjee. 

In another clip, Shah Rukh Khan was asked about his feelings as he made history by being the first Indian male Bollywood star to debut at Met Gala. Shah Rukh gave a humble reply and stated it was his friend, Sabyasachi, who convinced him to make an appearance. He said:

"I don't know about history, but I'm nervous, I'm excited, and Sabyasachi here... He convinced me to come." 

When Shah Rukh Khan talked about his stardom

Well, for Shah Rukh, it was a shocking experience as he has been enjoying superstardom in India, and people go crazy for his one look, wherever he goes. Earlier, in an interview with Filmfare, he had talked about being confident that he won't lose his stardom.  He said:

"I have a strange confidence that this will not happen. I have protected myself from that reality. I believe that I’ll never lose my stardom. Yes, people who were better actors and bigger stars than me have lost fans, so who am I? But having said that, I live in my own creative reality. So yeah, I live in a false world where I believe it will never happen."

Talking about Shah Rukh wore a black-hued elongated coat in Tasmanian superfine wool with monogrammed Japanese horn buttons. The coat is a single-breasted one with a peak collar and wide lapels. He paired it with a crepe de chine silk shirt and tailored superfine wool trousers. He completed his look with satin kamarbandh, which completed his look. He accessorised his look with the Bengal Tiger Head cane, which is crafted in 18k gold with tourmalines, sapphires, old mine cut and brilliant cut diamonds.
