Veteran actress, Sharmila Tagore shares a close bond with all her grandkids, especially her son, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan's children, Taimur and Jehangir Ali Khan. The kids have often been in the headlines for their adorable antics. Now, in a recent interview, their dadi, Sharmila, has revealed that they are as different as the sun and the moon. According to the veteran actress, Taimur has more of a reserved personality, whereas Jeh is the polar opposite. Sharmila shared that Jeh is a bundle of energy and is always on the go.
Sharmila Tagore recently sat for a candid conversation with SCREEN, where she spoke about her relationship with Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor's kids. During the interview, Sharmila confessed that there was a time when Taimur's sudden popularity amused her. Talking about her grandkids' distinctive nature, she shared:
"Not on his first day, though, and then the same person became so popular. Initially, I thought that he was popular in the children’s category, but then I learned that he was the most popular overall in every category. Taimur is a really quiet and reserved person. Jeh, on the other hand, is all over the place and very lovely. They are all over the place. They are very different temperamentally."
In the same conversation, Sharmila Tagore reflected on her son, Saif Ali Khan's childhood. She shared that a parent has to pay attention to their children as they don't directly tell you what they want to say. She added that you can't give them reckless replies. She further elaborated and shared:
"You have to pay attention because children don’t say directly what they want to say. They say it in a very roundabout manner. You can’t give them instant replies. I learnt this when Saif was growing up. Once, he was trying to tell me something, and I interrupted, thinking I understood what he was saying and that the conversation had gone off on a tangent."
For the unversed, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan welcomed their first son, Taimur Ali Khan, on December 20, 2016. Five years later, the couple welcomed their second son, Jehangir Ali Khan, on February 21, 2021. Kareena, a while back, made an appearance on an episode of Koffee With Karan Season 8. She spoke about the different personalities of her two kids and shared:
"Jeh is a complete toofan mail. Like my mom used to say, 'You're a toofan mail.' So he's like a toofan mail. The whole house is upside down because he's like cartwheeling. And he's very shaukeen; he wants to eat food and wants to sit with us and eat."
Saif Ali Khan also spoke about Jeh and Kareena's bond in an interview with The Times Of India. He shared that Jehangir Ali Khan is most definitely a mama's boy and is extremely attached to his mother. He added that they all are very attached to Kareena Kapoor Khan, but Jeh takes the cake as he is the most close to her.
