Shoaib Ibrahim Says Son Ruhaan Was 'Patient' During Dipika's Surgery, 'Spent 3 Days Away From Her..'

Popular television actress, Dipika Kakar, best known for her iconic role in Sasural Simar Ka, is currently recovering from a challenging phase in her life. After being diagnosed with a cancerous liver tumour, the actress recently underwent a 14-hour-long surgery. As fans and colleagues pray for her speedy recovery, Dipika’s husband and actor, Shoaib Ibrahim, recently gave an emotional update on her health and their 2-year-old son Ruhaan’s unexpected maturity during this time.

Shoaib Ibrahim praises Ruhaan’s patience during Dipika Kakar’s surgery

Shoaib, who has been by Dipika’s side throughout her treatment, recently gave an emotional update on his YouTube vlog. The actor shared how surprisingly brave their 2-year-old has been throughout the procedure as he coped with his mother’s absence from the house. Despite being just two years old, the toddler displayed patience beyond his age. Shoaib said:

“It is commendable to see that Ruhaan has been fine. It is only a blessing that Ruhaan was patient and spent three days away from Dipika. He stayed without his mother, though Ammi, Beti Khala, Riza and everyone were there at home. But I am grateful that he was fine, he cried a lot yesterday night, so we got him here. He met Dipika and played with her, so he went back home happy with his Nani.”

Dipika Kakar’s tumour surgery lasted 14 hours

Dipika’s surgery was conducted at a Mumbai hospital, lasting a daunting 14 hours. Shoaib revealed in his vlog that he dropped her off at the operating theatre around 8:30 am, and she came out only at 11:30 pm. Post-surgery, she was shifted to the ICU, where she remained under close observation for three days. With a relieved expression, the actor shared:

“I am extremely grateful to everyone who has showered blessings and prayers for Dipika. Dil se bohot bohot shukriya. Her surgery was successful, and she is safe now. Her tumour is completely out. Dipika’s tumour is now taken for biopsy, and the reports will come in a few days. Please pray that Dipika gets completely recovered, and hopefully, in a few days, Dipika will also get discharged.”

About Dipika’s diagnosis and post-surgery update

Dipika Kakar was diagnosed with a tennis ball-sized tumour in May 2025, after complaining about stomach pain for some days. Later, reports also revealed that the tumour was cancerous, and at Stage 2, following which she was set for surgery to remove the tumour at its earliest. After 14 gruelling hours in the OT, the Sasural Simar Ka actress was shifted to intensive care, but as per latest updates from Shoaib, she has been shifted to the general ward.

Dipika’s tumour has now been sent for biopsy, and while the surgery has gone well, the family awaits the detailed report in the coming days. Shoaib also shared that her gallbladder had to be removed due to a stone, and a small part of her liver was cut, though he assured fans that the liver regenerates, and there is no immediate cause for concern.
