There's no denying that Shubhangi's character, "Angoori Bhabhi", single-handedly took her career to a completely different level.

In an interview with ETimes, Shubhangi Atre opened up about her divorce and revealed that it was painful for her because she was fully invested in their relationship. However, as time passed, several irreconcilable issues developed in their married life. As a result, Shubhangi decided to move off that marriage and admitted that she was now at peace. Not only this, she also added that she is feeling a "newfound sense of freedom".

When Shubhangi Atre's husband, Piyush Poorey, left his job so that she could resume acting

For the uninitiated, Shubhangi Atre and Piyush Poorey got married in 2003, and after some years of their marriage, they welcomed a baby girl named Ashi. However, not everyone is aware of the fact that Piyush left his high-paying job in the advertising agency till their daughter grew up. In an old interview with The Times Of India, Shubhangi shared that while she was working on television shows, her husband left his job in order to let her pursue her dream of making a big impact in the television industry. She said:

"I was in Pune and my husband was working in an advertisement agency. Till our baby grew a year old, I was taking care of her completely but after that, I started giving auditions. When I got shows like Kasautii Zindagii Kay and Kasturi, Piyush left his job so that I could pursue acting. Later when I settled down a bit and we figured out our schedules, he resumed work."

In 2025, Shubhangi Atre and Piryush Poorey officially parted ways 2025. As per the actress, it was a mutual decision, and both have taken the divorce process smoothly and moved on in their respective ways. We hope for a happy life for both Shubhangi and Piyush as they enter a completely new phase of their lives.
