Sonakshi Sinha was brutally trolled after she announced her wedding to Zaheer Iqbal. Many made judgmental remarks about Sonakshi's decision to marry a Muslim. While religion was never a problem in her relationship, it was a big roadblock during her seven years of courtship. However, the actress slammed those by celebrating her first Ganpati with her husband, Zaheer Iqbal.
On September 8, 2024, Sonakshi took to her Instagram handle and posted a video of her Ganpati celebration. She welcomed Ganpati Bappa with her husband, Zaheer. A beautiful white coloured Ganpati Bappa with golden ornaments blessed the couple's home. The pandal was decorated with purple and pink-toned flowers, making the Bappa stand out.

For the celebration, Sonakshi looked pretty in a navy blue-toned heavy sharara. Subtle makeup and her curly hair left open completed her look. On the other hand, Zaheer wore a dual-toned kurta. In the video, we can also see Zaheer doing Ganpati's aarti with his Sonkashi. Along with it, Sonakshi wrote:
"Our first Ganpati after shaadi."

In an interview with News18 Showsha, Sonakshi talked about her dreamy wedding with Zaheer Iqbal. The actress revealed that her special day was just the same as she had imagined it with her husband, Zaheer. Sonakshi shared that she wanted her wedding to be an intimate one with only close family and friends. She said:
“Having an intimate wedding was always the plan. That has always been the kind of wedding that we both wanted. Zaheer and I were very clear that our wedding has to reflect the both of us as people, the bond we share, and the love we have for each other.”
Like every other girl, Sonakshi also dreamt of marrying the one she loved, and her dream came true with a cutesy registered wedding. Finally, she was able to convince and give confidence to her parents, Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha, about her love for Zaheer. They agreed and happily participated in the biggest day of her life. A clip from Sonakshi's intimate wedding went viral. In it, Sonakshi put her thumb impression on the wedding paper, and she jumped with joy and hugged her husband, Zaheer.
