Salman Khan Played A Role In Sonakshi And Zaheer's Love Story, Actress Says, 'Like A Sutradhar..'

Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha share a very special bond in Bollywood. The actress also made her debut alongside Salman in the film, Dabangg, which marked a successful launch of her acting career. Sonakshi has therefore expressed her gratitude to the superstar for giving her a break. Recently, as Sonakshi celebrated her first wedding anniversary with her husband, Zaheer, the actress credited Salman Khan for playing an unexpected role in her love story. 

Sonakshi Sinha revealed that she met Zaheer Iqbal due to Salman Khan 

Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal have been featured in only one film together, which was the 2022 movie, Double XL. When the couple announced their relationship, followed by marriage, many people thought the two had met and fallen in love on the sets of their film together. However, in a conversation with Pinkvilla, Sonakshi revealed that she met Zaheer at a party thrown by Salman Khan. 

Sonakshi Sinha said that Salman Khan was not necessarily a matchmaker in her love story with Zaheer. But they did meet at the Sultan star's party. Hence, the actress called Salman, 'kind of like a sutradhar'. As per reports, Sonakshi and Zaheer felt an instant connection after their first meeting. And within a week, she even expressed her feelings to him. Talking about Salman's role in their love story, Sonakshi said:

“Not really a matchmaker. We met at a party at his house, so kind of like a sutradhar.”

Sonakshi Sinha said that Salman Khan was happy about her and Zaheer Iqbal's marriage 

Sonakshi Sinha revealed that Salman Khan was very happy for her and Zaheer during their wedding. She also said that the Bollywood superstar is fond of both of them. To note, like Sonakshi Sinha, Zaheer Iqbal also owes his Bollywood debut to Salman Khan. His first film, Notebook, released in 2019, was produced by Salman. Reportedly, Zaheer's father is also a family friend of the Khans, and his sister is a celebrity stylist. Sonakshi disclosed Salman's reaction to their wedding and credited him by saying:

“He was obviously very happy. He is very fond of Zaheer and me. It was obviously because of him that we met, so all due credit to where it belongs."

The couple had met and were dating long before they worked on Double XL. Sonakshi and Zaheer dated for 8 years before getting married on June 23, 2024. Recently, the couple celebrated their first wedding anniversary, and Sonakshi Sinha posted a music video called Mastaani on her YouTube channel, which was a wedding gift from her friend, Raashi Sood. The music video featured the couple on their wedding day. 

Sonakshi also wished her husband, Zaheer, on Instagram and penned down, "Happy Anniversary husband of 1 year, and boyfriend of 8 - ILYSM i could burst." A year ago, in 2024, Sonakshi and Zaheer got married at an intimate wedding at the actress's home in Mumbai. The newlyweds threw a lavish reception party, which was attended by many Bollywood celebrities like Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Kajol, Rekha, and obviously the 'sutradhar' of Sonakshi and Zaheer's love story, Salman Khan.
