Sudhanshu Pandey Opens Up About Publicly Announced His Exit From 'Anupamaa', Says, 'I Didn't...'

Sudhanshu Pandey rose to prominence with his role as 'Vanraj Shah' in Anupamaa. The actor did spectacular work on the show and left fans shocked when he announced his departure in 2024. His exit from the show led to several speculations regarding his departure being linked to his relationship with his co-star, Rupali Ganguly.

Sudhanshu Pandey reveals he asked his astrologer if he should do Anupamaa

Sudhanshu Pandey, after almost a year since his departure from the show, Anupamaa shared insights on his journey on the show. The actor said that before Anupamaa, he wasn't sure if he was made for the television. However, when he got the opportunity for the show, he asked his astrologer if he should do it. He stated:

"He gave me a one-liner, and I liked it. When I came back, he gave me a narration, and that’s when we were on for Anupamaa. I did my thinking and asked my astrologer about 4-5 times because it was a daily show and a major commitment. I was a little nervous, but then it finally happened, and the rest is history."

Sudhanshu Pandey also revealed how he became a part of the show. He recalled the show as a divine intervention and stated that four years back, he had finished shooting for three OTT series when Rajan Sahi, the producer of Anupamaa, called him. He added that Rajan had told him he would pitch the idea to the channel only if he said yes, as he couldn't picture anyone else playing the character he had in mind.

In the same conversation, Sudhanshu was asked if he missed Anupamaa. The actor reacted and said he had his run on the show and loved the people and atmosphere on set. He revealed that he had gained so much from his stint, but it was time for him to move on. He further stated:

"I had a great time shooting for the show. I got so much love for the character. I used to wonder that I made the character so deadly that people hated me. They had so much anger for Vanraj, which is where the actor Sudhanshu succeeded. I am glad I was able to create someone so iconic like Vanraj that when I left the show, people were emotionally distraught."

In the same conversation, Sudhanshu spoke about working with Anupamaa lead, Rupali Ganguly. He revealed that despite the stories that are going around, he has spoken his truth, and that's all there is. He dismissed rumours about their rift and stated that they are still in touch. He was quoted as:

"Even though there are so many stories going around, whatever I said was my side of the story, and it was 100 percent the truth. Stories have nothing to do with reality, so don’t believe them. All is well; the four years have been fantastic. I will cherish being a part of Anupamaa all my life. The equation with Rupali is all okay. I was chatting with her recently. She messaged me about something on Instagram, and we were bickering about it. So it is all fine."

In the same conversation, he also addressed publicly announcing his exit from the show. He stated that he owed it to his fans. He added that he had to let his fans know about his exit. He concluded by saying that he was glad that he had told them and that they hadn’t come to know from other sources.
