Ram Kapoor made it to the headlines with his inappropriate comments during the promotional events of Mistry. Following the same, he was removed from further promotional events of the drama series. Later, Ram, in an interview with The Times of India, mentioned that he made the comments while asking for apologies, as he had made them with no intention to hurt anyone. Now, Sudhanshu Pandey slammed Ram Kapoor for his comments.
Sudhanshu Pandey recently sat for an interview with Filmibeat, wherein he was asked about Ram Kapoor's comments during the promotions of Mistry. To this, Sudhanshu said that such actions were due to mental instability. He further mentioned that such comments take just one second to tarnish the image and legacy that took years to build. In the same interview, Sudhanshu Pandey mentioned that a person, regardless of their status, should know how to respect a woman and others. He further apologised on Ram Kapoor's behalf for the questionable comments that he made. In Sudhanshu Pandey's words:
“A person must always behave with dignity and treat others, especially women, with respect. If Ram has indeed said something like this, then I sincerely apologise on behalf of our entire industry.”
During the promotion of Mistry, which was hosted at the JW Marriott, Ram Kapoor made some remarks that left everyone shocked, following which the officials decided that they wouldn't let the actor be in any further promotions afterwards. As per a report by Mid-Day, Ram Kapoor was seated between JioHotstar executives and Mona Singh for the interview. Well, the attendees told the portal that Ram had back-to-back interviews on that day, and he referred to the exhaustion as 'gang r**ed'.
One of the executives stated that Ram looked at one of his colleagues and pointed at the length of the dress, stating that it was pretty distracting. He also told one of the male workers that he shouldn't have been born, and for the same reason, his mom could act to have a headache. Well, such comments didn't go down well with the entire team, who later lodged a complaint to the higher authority, who then took the step of removing Ram from further promotional events as the streamer wanted to distance itself from any kind of behaviour that normalises workplace misconduct.
In a follow-up interview with The Times of India, Ram Kapoor said that he had made the comments and is guilty as charged. The actor said that whatever comments he made, happened because he was in his bindaas self, as he was comfortable around some people. He further mentioned that everyone was joking and laughing, which didn't give him a hint of any discomfort around, else he would not have said anything like that. He also mentioned that he is with people taking a stance, and he also has a son; thus, this incident taught him a lesson. Ram also said that he would find a way to say sorry to those who were hurt by his comments that day.
