Sunjay Kapur's Sister, Mandhira Talks About The Family's Equation With Karisma Amid Family Feud

Sunjay Kapur's sudden demise left everyone shocked to the core. Sunjay swallowed a bee, which led to an allergic reaction, and finally a cardiac arrest, claiming his life. After his demise, a family feud arose over a property worth around Rs. 30,000 crore. Recently, Priya claimed that Sunjay Kapur's will named her the sole beneficiary, a claim that the Kapur family denied. Now, Sunjay Kapur's sister, Mandhira, discussed the same, sharing what their current relationship is like with Karisma Kapoor.

Mandhira Kapur talks about her and Sunjay Kapur's mom's bond with Karisma Kapoor

Mandhira Kapur recently sat for an interview with Vickey Lalwani, wherein she talked about her relationship with Karisma Kapoor. Mandhira mentioned that Karisma had grown up in their house, and all of them shared a very cordial relationship. Mandhira shared that she and Karisma were best friends back then, and while it's true that they were not on talking terms for some time, everything went back to normal soon. Mandhira shared that Karisma still talks to her mom, and they are childhood friends and each other's family. Mandhira could be quoted as saying:

"Karisma has grown up in our house. We were best friends back then. It’s true that for a short period of time we weren’t talking to each other, but everything soon returned to normal very soon. She still talks to Mom and me. At the end of the day, she is not only a childhood friend, she is family for us. We have literally grown up side by side, so she is family for us, and she will always be. Even when we were not talking to each other during that brief period, our friendship didn’t end. That has never happened, and it will never happen."

Mandhira Kapur reacts to Priya Kapur's claims of Sunjay selecting her as the only beneficiary in his will

Mandhira Kapur discusses the will, in which Priya Sunjay Kapur claimed that she was designated as the sole beneficiary. Talking about the same, Mandhira said that they have read the will, and it didn't make any sense to her as to why his brother would cut off his kids from his will. She also revealed the first thing she heard was that Karisma's kids won't get anything, which felt very strange to her. She said:

"We have read the will, and it just doesn’t seem normal to me. I don’t understand how my brother would cut off his own kids from the will. That was the first thing we heard, ‘Ki unke bachchon ko kuch nahi mil raha‘ (his children aren’t going to get anything). The whole thing is very strange."

Mandhira Kapur also shared how her mom, Rani Kapur, was in shock at Karisma's kids being thrown out of their father's property. At the same time, she was frustrated with the fact that it looked ridiculous to the world to fight over money, which her dad had built from scratch, and her brother had taken forward. In Mandhira Kapur's words:

"The first reaction came from my mother, and she was extremely disturbed and was in disbelief over the whole thing. My problem is that iss family ko majak bana diya hai (they have made a joke out of our family). My father worked very hard to build his legacy, and my brother took it forward. All of that is being ridiculed in front of the whole world, and that too, over money."

Priya Sunjay Kapur requested the HC to remove Mandhira Kapur from the estate battle

For the unversed, Sunjay Kapur's kids, Samaira and Kiaan, have filed a lawsuit, accusing Priya of forgery. They also demanded an equal share in Sunjay Kapur's estate. Sunjay's sister, Mandhira, who had a strained relationship with her brother before his death, supported Karisma and her kids. Amidst this, during the hearings, Priya requested the Delhi HC to remove Mandhira from the estate battle, accusing her of mischievously misleading the court and the case. The HC has recorded Mandhira Kapur's appearance on September 10, 2025, even though she's not a party to the legal suit.

Following this, Priya filed a rectification application before the court, stating that Mandhira Kapur had not filed any application to be impleaded as a party to the suit. By deliberately entering into this battle, she was maliciously attempting to gain access to the back door to participate in the proceedings.
