Taha Shah Badussha is basking in the success of his web series, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. He has gained immense love and appreciation from the audience for his exceptional performance in the OTT project. In a recent interaction, Taha opened up about meeting his on-screen love interest, Sharmin Segal, aka 'Alamzeb', amid her trolling. For the uninitiated, Sharmin is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s niece, and she has been facing criticism for her performance in Heeramandi.

Taha Shah reveals Sharmin Segal's reaction to the online trolling against her

In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Taha Shah recalled his recent meeting with Sharmin Segal and revealed her reaction to the online trolling against her. He shared that Sharmin was very happy when he met her at Heeramandi’s success bash. Calling her a strong person, Taha claimed that the actress will soon get through this phase of negativity. He said:

“I spoke to her at the success party and she was very happy. Sharmin is a very strong person and she knows exactly what she is doing. She will get through this. There are so many people who have also liked her performance. Whenever I have worked with her, I have seen her give her best. You can’t really demand more from a person.”

Later, Taha was asked about his take on the audience's reaction to Sharmin Segal's acting in Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, and he gave a beautiful response. He shared that even though he was not accepted by the audience initially, he understood that people's perceptions were not in his hands. Talking about the same, the 36-year-old actor added:

“I am no one to speak about how the audience perceives something, that is in no one’s control. I have been on the other side as well, when the audience didn’t accept me, but now I have been accepted, so it’s a journey. It’s a phase that many people have to go through.”

When Taha Shah defended Sharmin Segal against trolling

Well, this is not the first time that Taha Shah has defended Sharmin Segal against trolling. Earlier, in an interview with Zoom, the actor talked about his on-screen lover and mentioned that Sharmin has given her best as an actor. Appreciating Sharmin's performance, Taha shared that he literally lived with her on the sets and added that the former was always punctual and tried to do her best. However, reacting to the audience's take on Sharmin's acting, Taha mentioned that the former has a great heart and was always present on the set as an actor.

Sharmin Segal revealed if she had to audition for Heeramandi

Earlier, Sharmin Segal appeared on The Great Indian Kapil Show with the leading ladies of Heeramandi, including Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Sanjeeda Shaikh. During the same, Kapil jokingly asked Sharmin if she had to audition for the web series as Sanjay Leela Bhansali is her uncle. To this, the actress revealed that she desperately wanted to work with the filmmaker, ignoring the fact that he's her 'mamu'. Thus, she gave sixteen auditions for her selection in the series, and SLB groomed her for an entire year.
