Thamma Trailer Reaction, Fans Think Rashmika Mandanna Needs Hindi Tutor, Call It Average Trailer

Bollywood is mostly known for its romantic and action-packed films. It is rare when a horror genre reaches the audience's heart, like the Hollywood horror flicks. However, Stree and Stree 2's success proved that Indian films have the potential to scare the hearts of their fans. But the fifth instalment in Maddock's horror-comedy universe, Thamma's trailer has landed flat. The Internet is buzzing with disappointment with the 2.54-minute trailer.

Thamma trailer shows a battle with a 1000-year-old vampire

The trailer showed Ayushmann Khurrana jumping from one building to another and finding his balance as he turns into a vampire. After which, he seems to get engaged in a battle with a thousand-year-old vampire, which is played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui. However, his father, played by Paresh Rawal, believes that his son has turned into a shaitaan, after he spotted his vampire teeth. While the teaser was loved, the trailer left the fans highly disappointed.

Netizens react to Thamma's trailer 

Redditors quickly jumped to share their honest reaction to the trailer of Thamma. One user wrote, "Ye kya tha?? I thought Ayushmaan is a good actor, but this was a let down." A second one pointed at Rashmika's dialect in the film, and wrote, "Can someone get Rashmika a diction coach and/or a speech therapist! She's taken a vow to never fully open her mouth when speaking Hindi. Who wants to hear her mumble on the big screen?"

A third one wrote, "Movie has a fresh look, but the trailer is a dud. None of the dialogues landed for me. Especially Nawaz's lines, looks like a complete mismatch with that character. Paresh Rawal was the only one who delivered a bit but even his lines seemed weak. And I hate when they show the entire movie in the trailer, it shows that they are desperate and don't believe in their product, so that's not a good sign at all."

A fourth netizen was left highly unimpressed with Rashmika's Hindi and commented, "Rashmika, please join some voice modulation classes, and I don't know the technical term for it, but any class that will help you open your mouth a little more while talking, unless you have a medical issue." 

Another stated, "Rashmika needs serious accent coaches and language training. She has a terrible command of Hindi, and her dialogues sound so weird and rehearsed. At this point, there’s no excuse since she’s been primarily acting in Hindi movies. Her dialogues were an absolute disaster in Chhava as well." One user also commented, "When will bollywood make its own trends instead of copy-pasting instagram reels and memes like "Dame unn grr" and "Lapu sa sachin'."

More about Thamma

The film is hailed as a bloody love story directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, who was the man behind the 2024 superhit film, Munjya. The Maddock's horror-comedy universe started in 2018 with Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's Stree. Soon, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon's Bhediya was loved by many. Stree 2 also surpassed all the admiration and adulation. Thamma will hit the silver screens on October 21, 2025.
