Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are one of WWE’s most iconic power couples, known not just for their on-screen roles but also for their influence behind the scenes. Triple H, whose real name is Paul Levesque, is a WWE Hall of Famer and currently serves as the Chief Content Officer, for WWE. While Stephanie McMahon is the daughter of WWE Chairman, Vince McMahon, she has held multiple executive roles within the company.
Recently, the couple was spotted enjoying a relaxing getaway in Mykonos, Greece, taking some time off from their busy schedules to unwind along the beautiful Mediterranean coast. Their vacation photos quickly made rounds online, giving fans a glimpse into their life outside the ring. The duo continues to make headlines wherever they go from the beginning of their relationship. Here's all you need to know about them.
Triple H and Stephanie McMahon’s romance began in November 1999 as part of a WWE storyline that quickly captured fans' attention. At the time, Stephanie was set to marry her on-screen fiancé, Test, in a televised wedding, but in true WWE fashion, the ceremony took a dramatic turn. Triple H interrupted the event to reveal that he and Stephanie had already gotten married in Las Vegas, shocking both the audience and the storyline characters.
Things escalated further at the Armageddon pay-per-view, when Triple H took on Vince McMahon in a No Holds Barred match with Stephanie watching from ringside. In a jaw-dropping twist, Stephanie turned on her father and sided with Triple H, officially forming the powerful and controversial McMahon-Helmsley faction. However, what started as scripted drama soon became the foundation of a real-life love for the two.
Before their on-screen romance began, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon had very little interaction behind the scenes at WWE, and Stephanie’s first impression of him wasn’t exactly the best. In the 2013 documentary, Triple H – Thy Kingdom Come, she recalled thinking he was ‘so disrespectful’ during their meetings. He would show up in jeans and a leather jacket, lounge across chairs, chew gum, and crack jokes; all of it got on her nerves.

Despite Steaphanie’s initial irritation, she admitted she felt nervous whenever he was around. The second he would walk into a room, she would feel her face blush. For Triple H, the turning point from colleagues to something more came when they began working closely together on the WWE storyline.
When Triple H and Stephanie McMahon's real-life connection began to develop, it wasn’t welcomed. At the time, WWE had a strict policy that prohibited Stephanie from dating any of the wrestlers. Stephanie revealed in the documentary, Thy Kingdom Come that Triple H was flirtatious with her, but she would brush it off, thinking he was just working on the storyline. But their feelings grew stronger, and eventually, Vince McMahon gave the couple his blessing only to take it back later, this forced them to part ways temporarily.
Despite the setback, Triple H and Stephanie couldn’t stay apart for long. After nearly 10 months, they reunited, this time with Vince’s full approval. Looking back, Stephanie admired the risk Triple H took for their relationship, saying he put everything that he had ever fought for on the line to be with her. For her, that was the most romantic story she could think of. Talking about the same, Triple H wrote in his book, Making the Game:
“We tried to adhere to Vince's wishes and cool it off, but after a while, it just didn't work. It was too late to stop. We were in love.”
Triple H and Stephanie McMahon officially tied the knot on October 25, 2003, in a beautiful ceremony held at St. Teresa of Avila Church in Sleepy Hollow, New York. The wedding hosted more than 300 guests, and the bride wore an elegant ivory wedding gown while the groom looked sharp in a classic black tuxedo.
Their wedding party included Stephanie’s brother, Shane McMahon and several WWE legends like Kevin Nash, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, and The Undertaker. Triple H’s father, Paul, served as his best man. The guest list also featured icons such as Stone Cold Steve Austin, Mick Foley, Edge, Eddie Guerrero, Sgt. Slaughter, Mae Young, and Killer Kowalski.
Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are proud parents to three daughters: Aurora Rose, Murphy Claire, and Vaughn Evelyn. While they’ve kept much of their family life private, Stephanie has occasionally shared moments from their daughters' lives, from childhood milestones to glimpses of their emerging personalities. Their oldest, Aurora, has already shown serious interest in following in her parents’ WWE footsteps. Stephanie shared during an interview on First Things First in 2019 that her eldest daughter has already started training.
Triple H told the Daily Mail in July 2024 that if any of his kids decided to make an attempt to get in WWE, he would be 100% behind them. As it turns out, Aurora isn't the only one eyeing a possible future in wrestling. Stephanie revealed in a 2021 interview with Talksport that their youngest daughter, Vaughn, is also interested. Stephanie could be quoted as saying:
“She (Vaughn) is all about the personality. Oh my goodness, I can’t wait to see what she is going to do.”
In September 2021, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon faced an unexpected chapter in their journey. After battling viral pneumonia, Triple H began coughing up blood, and Stephanie got worried and pushed him to get it tested immediately. Doctors discovered fluid in his lungs and around his heart, leading to a diagnosis of severe heart failure. His heart was functioning at dangerously low levels, putting his life at serious risk. The health crisis brought Triple H’s legendary in-ring career to an end. In a 2022 interview with Ariel Helwani Meets, he talked about it and could be quoted as saying:
“I rode it till the wheels fell off, wheels fell off. They tell you you're done, and I'm done.”

From unexpected twists in the ring to raising a family, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon have built a life for themself full of love. They faced many challenges along the way, including rejection from family and health scares, but they overcame them together and always emerged stronger as a couple, more in love.
