Triptii Dimri Opens Up On Being Single Amid Dating Rumours With Sam Merchant, 'Agar Life Mein..'

Triptii Dimri is a popular Bollywood actress, who made her debut in the 2017 film, Poster Boys, but rose to fame with her role in the hit film, Animal, alongside Ranbir Kapoor. Since the release of Animal, Triptii has been making a lot of headlines for both professional and personal reasons. Recently, the actress opened up about her long-standing dating rumours with Sam Merchant.

Triptii Dimri denies being in a relationship

Recently, the Laila Majnu actress, Triptii Dimri sat down for a candid interview with Filmfare, in which she opened up about her relationship status. When she was asked about being in one with Sam Merchant, the actress shared that it is not mandatory to be in a relationship and that not having a partner doesn't make a person sad. She was quoted as saying:

"You do not have to be in a relationship. Kyunki ek conditioning hoti hai humari ki agar life mein relationship nahi hai, then something is wrong, that there must be something wrong with me. But it has nothing to do with who you are as a person, whether you are good enough or not."

She continued to add that the director of the film, Bulbbul, Anvita Dutt helped her understand that there is nothing wrong in being single. She shared that the director taught her that there are several things that can be done when you are single, so one shouldn't be sad about it. In her words:

"I think Anvita (Dutt, director of Bulbbul) was the one who taught me that there is nothing wrong with being single. There is nothing wrong if you do not have anyone to romance in your life, because there are so many other things you can do with it. Why be sad about just this one thing?"

Triptii Dimri and Sam Merchant’s dating rumours

Actress, Triptii Dimri and businessman, Sam Merchant have been making headlines because of their rumoured relationship for over a year now. While the rumours aren't confirmed, the social media posts of the two have frequently fueled the ongoing rumours. The rumours started in 2024, when Triptii was seen riding a bike with Sam in Mumbai. 

Later, the duo were spotted on dinner dates, airport, film screenings and more. In early 2025, the two were rumoured to be vacationing together in Maldives. Recently, Sam was spotted alongside Triptii during the screening of her film, Dhadak 2, alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi.

Triptii Dimri is an Indian actress, who is slowly and gradually rising to fame with Bollywood films. She was born on February 23, 1994, in New Delhi. She made her acting debut in 2017, with the film Poster Boys and in 2018, appeared as a lead in Laila Majnu. Later, in 2020, she portrayed a complex character in the film, Bulbbul, but she got attention for her role in Qala and Animal. 

Some of Triptii's recent projects include Bad Newz, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, through which she got a lot of fame. She was last seen in the film, Dhadak 2, which was released on August 1, 2025. Reportedly, her upcoming projects include Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit and O' Romeo.
