True Haunting was released on Netflix on October 7, 2025 (ET). The documentary series visualises some of the most terrifying paranormal cases in history and has been leaving the viewers 'petrified' with the real-life stories. The show, while a delight for horror-lovers, has exceeded expectations, leaving most of them in chills.
Netflix has been like a candy fest for horror lovers, as they brought their Halloween binge drops earlier than normal this year. The streak started with the streaming giant dropping Jenna Ortega's Wednesday Season 2 in September 2025. Setting the record for being an English language title ranked number one in the most countries ever in its first week, the season was worth the wait for fans who waited three years for more episodes.
Since then, Netflix has been on a streak, and with the momentum continuing, the OTT giant has now released True Haunting, a five-part series that explores several paranormal encounters. However, it has been making headlines, as sometimes the scariest things are those based on pure fact.
True Haunting has been brought to life through immersive reenactments and present-day interviews, the chilling tales arrive from the viewpoint of those who lived them, making it more terrifying as people recount the incidents they faces. The story is split into two parts, the first being about the Eerie Hall, where avid runner Chris Di Cesare recalls the time he began to hear strange voices and experience inexplicable feelings of dread at Geneseo College in 1984.
The series has released its five episodes, so viewers don't have to wait to find out what happens next. True Haunting is said to have three episodes dedicated to the Geneseo College story; the series then turns its attention to This House Murdered Me for its final two episodes. Centred around a couple named April and Matt, its synopsis reads:
