In a shocking turn of events, actress, Vaibhavi Upadhyaya, who is best known for her performance in the popular show, Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai passed away in a road accident on May 23, 2023. The news of Vaibhavi’s death came as a shocker to her colleagues and her fans.
As per reports, the actress was travelling in a car in Himachal Pradesh with her fiancé. As the car took a sharp turn, the vehicle lost control, which led to the actress’s death. Vaibhavi’s brother rushed to the hospital in Himachal Pradesh to claim her body.

Vaibhavi has been part of the shows like CID and Adaalat. However, it was her portrayal of ‘Jasmine’ in the popular show, Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai, which got her immense fame. Vaibhavi has also worked alongside Deepika Padukone in the film, Chhapaak. Since the news of Vaibhavi’s death flashed in the headlines, her co-stars are in disbelief and are pouring their condolences on social media.
Actor and producer JD Majethia took to his Twitter handle and informed everyone about Vaibhavi’s untimely demise and shared details about the funeral. His Tweet can be read as:
“Life is so unpredictable. A very fine actress, dear friend Vaibhavi upadhyay popularly known as“ jasmine “of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai passed away.She met with an accident in north. Family will bring her to mumbai tomorrow morning around 11 am for last rites . RIP vaibhavi.”

Sharing details about her death, JD Majethia shared:
“She met with an accident near Chandigarh and the family will be bringing her to Mumbai where her final rites will be conducted. She was with her fiancé in the car when it slipped into a valley during a turn on the road. Her brother rushed to Chandigarh on hearing the news.”
Actress, Rupali Ganguly, who starred with her in the show, Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai took to her IG stories and penned her emotions after Vaibhavi’s death. Posting a glimpse of her from the show, the Anupamaa actress wrote, “Gone too soon Vaibhavi.” She also posted another picture of Vaibhavi and penned:
“Can't believe this.”
