Varinder Singh Ghuman was born in Gurdaspur, Punjab. Vrainder hailed from a sports background as his father, Bhupinder Singh was an ex-ASI and a Kabaddi player, and his grandfather was a hockey player. In 2009, Varinder Singh Ghuman grabbed attention by being titled Mr India. He already shot to fame with his bodybuilding journey, which was boosted when he became a runner-up in the Mr Asia. Following this, Australian actor, Arnold Schwarzenegger selected him to be the brand ambassador for promoting his products in Asia.

While several famous personalities are tied to bodybuilding, Varinder carved a special place in the Indian fitness community, as he was not only a bodybuilder but also a vegetarian. It was his commitment to vegetarianism that people even loved him more, which eventually helped him carve a niche for himself as the world's first vegetarian bodybuilder. 

Varinder Singh Ghuman's journey in the glamour world

After successfully winning hearts in the fitness community, Varinder Singh Ghuman turned to acting. In 2012, he made his debut in the acting world as the lead actor in the film, Kabaddi Once Again. Following this, he appeared in Bollywood, with his first film released in 2014, titled Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans, and then in Marjaavaan, released in 2019. Varinder also worked with Salman Khan in the movie, Tiger 3.

Varinder Singh Ghuman, although he was a famous face in the glamour world, kept his personal life hush-hush. While he never made any social media posts about his wife, reports suggested that he had been married for several years and was a loving father to four children: his sons, Gurtejvir Singh Ghuman and Bhagwant Singh Ghuman, and his daughters, Gavy Ghuman and Ekamjot Ghuman. Varinder kept his personal life away from the public eye, however, he often took to his social media handles and wished his children on their birthdays. While not confirmed, a report by NewsX revealed that Varinder's net worth was around Rs. 16-42 crore, with most of his earnings coming from prize money from bodybuilding contests, endorsements, sponsorships, and acting ventures.

Varinder Singh Ghuman's sudden death and details about his last rites 

Varinder Singh Ghuman passed away on October 9, 2025, and his family confirmed the same. As per his nephew, the bodybuilder-actor passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest. On the other hand, the actor's manager told PTI that he was facing shoulder pain, and when he reached the hospital for a check-up, he suffered a cardiac arrest and remained unresponsive during the treatment, leading to complete heart failure. Reports claimed that Varinder's last rites may take place today, i.e. on October 10, 2025.
