Varun Chakravarthy's Love Story With Neha Khedekar, She Said 'You Earn 5K, I Make 50K, We'll Manage'

He is the fastest Indian bowler to claim a five-wicket haul in the ODIs. He made headlines with his performance during the 2025 Champions Trophy and 2025 Asia Cup.

While Varun makes batsmen dance with his ball, there is someone who makes him dance to her tunes. It is none other than his gorgeous wife, Neha Khedekar. Born in Karnataka's Bidar, Varun completed his schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya CLRI and St. Patrick's Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School. After completing his schooling, Varun Chakravarthy took admission in SRM University, where he pursued a bachelor's degree in architecture. He met Neha Khedekar in college and became friends. Soon their friendship developed into love and they dated for some time.

From an early age, Varun had a strong inclination towards cricket, but he left it to focus on his studies. Soon after Varun completed his graduation, he was placed in a well-paid job and started working as an architect. However, the inclination towards cricket was always there. He didn’t tell anyone about his dreams, but Neha knew, and she supported him.

When Varun considered leaving his well-paying job to pursue his dream of playing for the Indian team, Neha became his biggest strength. Varun warned Neha not to trust him, as he would have to work hard. However, her response gave him assurance. Once, the cricketer recalled how Neha motivated him and said:

“I told my wife not to trust me and come with me since I didn’t even have a job. But she believed in me. She gave me confidence and said, ‘Play cricket, earn 5-6K. I’m earning 50K. We’ll manage. She Believed in me when I had nothing!”

Soon, Varun started focusing on his game and came into the limelight during the 2018 Tamil Nadu Premier League. In the same year, he was bought by Kings XI Punjab in the IPL player auction. In 2020, Varun joined the Kolkata Knight Riders. Since then, there has been no looking back for him.

In 2020, Varun and Neha were supposed to get married. However, they postponed the same due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Initially, the wedding was scheduled for early 2020, but it was eventually held on December 12, 2020, in an intimate ceremony. The couple welcomed their first child on November 10, 2022, when Neha gave birth to a baby boy, and the couple chose the name Aathman for him.

In 2023, Varun Chakravarthy was awarded Player of the Match. The cricketer, in a post-match conversation, turned emotional as he dedicated his award to his newborn son. Varun, who was busy playing the IPL in 2023, could hardly spend any time with his newborn. Speaking to Harsha Bhogle, he said:

“I’d like to credit this (performance) to my newborn son, still not able to see him, I’d like to dedicate it to him and my wife."
