Online trolling has become an inseparable part of a celebrity's life in the modern world. No one has been spared from its menace from the leading stars to new entrants. Its most recent target has been Veer Pahariya, who debuted with the film, Sky Force alongside Akshay Kumar In January 2025. The young actor became a target of trolls because one of his unique 'langdi' dance steps from the film became a topic of discussion online. In a recent interview, Veer gave an unexpected reaction to it.
Veer Pahariya's debut film was released on January 24, 2025, and since then, he has been immediately exposed to incessant trolling. But, rather than being affected by it, he gave an unexpected reaction to trolling. In a conversation with Hauterrfly's On A Date With hosted by Janvi Manchanda, the young actor mentioned that he loved trolling and rather lives for it. In his words:
"My whole life I've looked up to actors who get trolled and who have lookalikes, and they become a meme. I have become a meme; can you imagine? I'm immortalised with this dance. Who knew me 20 days ago? Now if I do langdi here, they will recognise me."
Veer Pahariya learnt a special dance hook step for his film, Sky Force's song, Rang. In the step, he jumps on one leg and goes around his co-star, Sara Ali Khan. Given its uniqueness, it quickly went viral, revealing mixed responses. Some made memes about it, while some expressed their disapproval. When Veer was asked about the trolling surrounding his hook step, the actor admitted that he was trolled a lot but revealed that it also brought a silver lining for him. Explaining the same, he said:
"I'll say this for the first time. Since my song came out and since it went viral and got trolled, my engagement has increased so much that so many doors and avenues have opened up for me after that."
The young actor added that the recognition brought by the trolling has also opened new possibilities for him. Since people identify him easily and he is invited to more weddings. Consequently, he can earn more. Veer gave a funny edge to his response and requested the trolls to further continue with their job that brings him profits. The actor mentioned:
"I've already performed at two weddings. I did that langdi step with the bride. I told the groom, 'This is my fifth round. If I do two more, the bride will be mine.' But everything is like that; so many work opportunities have opened because people now know who I am. I've got a hit song. I've got weddings, which is every actor's dream—to be able to dance and perform at weddings."
Veer Pahariya is the son of business tycoon, Sanjay Pahadia and Sobo Films owner, Smriti Sanjay Shinde. His grandfather, Sushilkumar Shinde, was the former CM of Maharashtra. He reportedly holds a BA degree in Global Financial Management from London and used to run a YouTube channel on Hindi pop music. Veer also worked on some entrepreneurial ventures and as an assistant director in Varun Dhawan starrer, Bhediya. Finally, after multiple auditions, he got an opportunity to work in Sky Force, co-starring Akshay Kumar, which was released on January 24, 2025.
