The hottest, coolest and definitely the cutest couple of the film industry, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's love story, needs no introduction as they have been the talk of the town ever since their relationship rumours had started buzzing. But, for the unversed, it was Alia, who had confessed having a crush on Ranbir Kapoor on Karan Johar's celebrity talk show, Koffee With Karan, and the universe had heard her wish and had presented her with the opportunity of working with Ranbir in the film, Brahmastra.
The shooting of the film had played the Cupid for them, and now their marriage will be just a formality. The lovebirds, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor had made their relationship official at Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, and Anand S Ahuja's wedding reception as the two had walked hand-in-hand, leaving us all happy. However, how many of you know that Alia had met Ranbir for the first time when she was 9-years-old and auditioned for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film, Black? Here's everything you need to know about it!

Once in an interview with Film Companion, Sanjay Leela Bhansali had opened up about his film, Gangubai Kathiawadi's lead actress, Alia Bhatt and had recalled the time when she had auditioned for a role in his film, Black. The director had stated that Alia was nine years old when she had visited for the audition with her mother, Soni Razdan.
Revealing the details of her audition, Sanjay revealed that he had told Alia to dance to the song, Dola Re Dola, and she had passed the test with flying colours. After which, he had called his assistant director, Ranbir Kapoor and told him to sit with Alia. That was when Ranbir and Alia had met each other for the first time in their lives. Recalling the same, Sanjay Leela Bhansali had said:
"Then we went inside the room and I said Soni (Razdan) now you sit, and I said (to Alia) now you dance on Dola Re Dola. I wanted to see how much of a heroine she had in her. How much was she comfortable with the mainstream. She came out with flying colours. Then I made her sit, dressed her up. Then I said, Ranbir (Kapoor), just sit next to her, because Ranbir was assisting me on Black that time."
Going further in the conversation, Sanjay Leela Bhansali had opened up about the task he had given to Alia Bhatt in the next round of her audition. The filmmaker had revealed that he had told Alia to place her head on his assistant, Ranbir Kapoor's shoulder and she had said 'no'. After hearing the unexpected answer, an irked Sanjay had asked her mother, Soni Razdan, what is this? While he was talking to Soni, the young actress had placed her head on Ranbir's shoulder, and Sanjay had told one of his photographers to click their pictures. Sanjay had also revealed that he had gifted Alia that special picture on her 27th birthday.

He had recalled:
"Okay so I said now let's take some pictures and now put your head on his shoulder. She said 'no'. She was feeling shy of it. So, I looked at Soni and said 'what is this?' She said, 'she's shy'. And am talking to Soni and suddenly I saw her head go onto his shoulder. I have that picture of the two of them which I sent her (Alia) on her last birthday. It was a little black and white copy saved, stored, scratched and I asked her 'do you remember this moment?"

Not just Sanjay Leela Bhansali but even Alia Bhatt also remembers the finest details of her iconic audition for his film, Black. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Alia had also opened up about the same and had recalled how miserably she had failed in her audition. Alia had also talked about her first meeting with Ranbir Kapoor, Alia had revealed:
"Sanjay Sir wanted to make another film with me, Balika Vadhu. So we did the prep for that I did a photoshoot. Ranbir was there he was Sanjay Leela Bhansali's assistant. I have a picture of my head on Ranbir's shoulder. I don't know how that happened at that age, whatever it is I remember feeling very shy. Anyway, that did not work up for some reason. I think because Sir decide against making that movie."
Isn't it fair to say that the much-in-love couple, Alia and Ranbir, were simply destined to be together!
