Pawan Kalyan fans had a moment to cherish when the much-awaited film of the actor, They Call Him OG, was released worldwide on September 25, 2025. The film opened with a phenomenal Rs. 100 crore gross worldwide, with a Rs 70-crore net opening in India. The mass entertainer features Pawan Kalyan in a classy avatar, and the hype around the film is unmissable.
The film is currently successfully playing in cinemas in India and overseas. According to several reports, the film will be available on the OTT giant Netflix after its theatrical release. It is also reported that Pawan Kalyan’s OG struck a lucrative deal with Netflix for a staggering amount of Rs. 92 crores. It also marks the biggest OTT deal in Pawan Kalyan’s career. The deal covers all the languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.
While the exact date of the film’s OTT release has not yet been announced, regional films often stream on OTT within four to eight weeks of their theatrical release. The release date also depends on the film’s box office performance.
The film revolves around 'Ojas Gambheera' (OG), who leaves his life as a gangster behind and leads a peaceful life with his wife, ‘Kanmani’, and their child, ‘Tara’. However, earlier, he used to work for ‘Satya dada’, played by Prakash Raj, who has a port in Mumbai. But when 'Omi Bhau', played by Emraan Hashmi, creates havoc in Mumbai, 'OG' is forced to return. Will he return to his old life as a gangster? Why was 'OG' missing in action? All these questions are answered in the film.
The film is for a Pawan Kalyan fan as it has all the elements they are looking for in a mass entertainer. From Pawan Kalyan’s entry to the fight sequence, every scene will give you goosebumps. However, the film falls short in terms of its story. The second half of the story also has many dull moments, and several characters, including Prakash Raj, Sriya Reddy, Arjun Das, and Priyanka Mohan, fail to leave a lasting impression. The climax of the film was effective, but it lacked a sense of excitement.

OG is a love letter from director Sujeet to Pawan Kalyan as he has showcased the actor in a classy yet massy gangster avatar. Emraan Hashmi shines brightly as a villain in his first Telugu film, bringing his usual charm and swag, whereas Sudev Nair leaves a mark despite his limited screen presence. Several easter eggs were also dropped in with reference to Saaho. For a true Pawan Kalyan fan, the movie has all the elements they are looking for.
