Who Is Tucker Carlson's Wife, Susan Andrews? His High School Sweetheart And Mom Of Four

Tucker Carlson is a well-known American conservative political activist and commentator. He used to host the nightly political talk show, Tucker Carlson Tonight, on Fox News from 2016 to 2023. After his contract with Fox was terminated, Tucker went on to host Tucker on X and The Tucker Carlson Show. His career in the media began way back in the ‘90s, and over the years, Tucker has often found himself in the midst of controversies.

Most recently, Tucker has been in the spotlight after speaking out against President Donald Trump's Easter Sunday tirade. Following this, Donald reacted by calling Tucker “a low-IQ person that has absolutely no idea what's going on.” Well, with Tucker grabbing all the attention, if you have ever wondered about his personal life, here's everything we know about his wife, Susan Andrews, to whom he has been married for over 30 years.

According to a report by People, Susan Andrews and Tucker Carlson met for the first time when the former was a student at St. George's School in Rhode Island. Apparently, Susan's father was the headmaster of the school. Back in 2000, during a conversation with the publication, Tucker said, referring to his now-wife, “She was the cutest 10th grader in America.” Coming to Susan's impression of Carlson, she recalled that he had a “bounce in his walk.” She remembered him being in khaki pants and a ribbon belt, which, according to Susan, even made him seem “so optimistic and positive.”

Later, Tucker Carlson and Susan got engaged just six months before he graduated from Trinity College in 1991. At the time, Tucker jokingly told People, “All very 19th century, but a good thing to do.” If a report by Tuko is to be believed, Tucker Carlson married Susan in the same school where the two met. Because the place was meaningful to both of them, the couple settled on the chapel as the venue for their wedding. Since their marriage, Susan and Tucker have displayed the highest level of support and commitment to each other. One could even say that Susan has played a vital role in helping her husband reach where he is today.

As per a report by the Associated Press from October 2016, Susan Andrews' father, Rev. George E. Andrews, was investigated for allegedly not reporting sexual abuse. The horrendous deed in question was allegedly committed by a teacher at St. George's School in the 1980s, when George was serving as headmaster. Apparently, George's attorney claimed that he wasn't aware of the scale of the abuse at the time. He also said that George acted in accordance with legal counsel.

To give you more insight into the incident, several members of the staff, even the priests, were accused of sexually abusing students. What's even more shocking is that the abuse continued for more than three decades at the prestigious USD 58,000-per-year Episcopal boarding school. It is worth noting that both Tucker Carlson and Susan Andrews had long graduated from the school when the investigation began. Though at the time, Susan was one of the board members of the institution.

Susan Andrews prefers to stay out of the spotlight. But even though she does not make headlines like her husband, Tucker Carlson, this does not mean that her life has been any less busy. Like most spouses of public figures, Susan's life had its own set of challenges, which she successfully juggled while raising her children. For those unaware, Susan Andrews and Tucker Carlson, in their decades-long marriage, have been blessed with four kids, who are now adults.

The duo embraced parenthood for the first time with the birth of their eldest daughter, Lillie. Susan and Tucker welcomed three more children after this, son, Buckley, and two daughters, Hopie and Dorothy, completing their family of six. If a New Yorker report is to be believed, Susan was a schoolteacher. However, she had to stop working by the time they had their third child. After becoming a housewife, Susan focused on raising her children. It is worth noting that this was in the early 2000s, when Tucker Carlson's career first began to pick up on CNN.

According to the Daily Mail, in the early 2000s, a woman named Kimberly Carter accused Susan's husband, Tucker Carlson, of raping her. Despite the gravity of the allegations, Susan chose to stand by Tucker. Because the accusations might have been enough to end the duo's marriage, Kimberly reportedly later apologised. She admitted to suffering from a mental health condition that made her believe her claims.

In November 2018, a group of Tucker Carlson's critics staged a protest outside his and Susan's Washington, DC, home, where they lived at the time. Apparently, the protest happened just 2 hours before Tucker was supposed to go live on Fox News, meaning he was not at home. It was Susan who was alone in the house when the protestors surrounded it. According to the Daily Express U.S., after Susan heard shouting outside, someone started pounding on the door. Unaware of the protest, this led Susan to believe that it was the start of a home invasion. After promptly locking herself in the pantry, she went to call 911. In a 2018 interview with the Washington Post, Tucker gave more insight into the incident and said:

"I called my wife. She had been in the kitchen alone, getting ready to go to dinner, and she heard pounding on the front door and screaming. Someone started throwing himself against the front door and actually cracked the front door. It wasn't a protest. It was a threat. They were threatening me and my family and telling me to leave my own neighborhood in the city that I grew up in."
