Robert Duvall has been one of the few actors to remain relevant for multiple decades. But his death at 95 marks the end of his remarkable career spanning more than seven decades. The heartbreaking news was confirmed by his wife, Luciana Pedraza, who shared in a Facebook statement that he passed away peacefully at home on February 15, 2026. Robert, who had worked in iconic films such as The Godfather, Apocalypse Now, and Tender Mercies, is now survived by his current wife, Luciana Pedraza. Let us know why the veteran actor had no kids despite four marriages.
Robert Duvall had been quite open about his desire to become a father, but admitted that it never happened despite his efforts. According to Today, he once made a candid comment in a 2007 interview with a Magazine and said, "I guess I'm shooting blanks". The actor had revealed that he had tried to have children during his four marriages and even outside his marriages in long-term relationships, but he was unsuccessful. Further, Robert Duvall acknowledged that he had once considered adoption. But he could never pursue it fully.

According to a Daily Mail source, the actor rarely spoke publicly about the topic and did not allow it to define his life. The same course claimed that although Robert yearned for fatherhood at one point, he ultimately focused his energy on his career, personal relationships, and creative passions. Those close to him noted that he lived a fulfilling life and did not dwell on regrets. Despite not having biological kids, he had experienced the joy of family life during his first marriage to Barbara Benjamin, becoming a stepfather to her two daughters from a previous relationship. In the source's words:
"Bobby didn't talk about not having children often because he invested his time in his craft, his marriages, and just living life. He has spoken about how it wasn't in the cards in the past, but he never thought of it as a regret. It may have caused strife in some of his marriages, but not having kids was never a game-changer for him."

Robert Duvall tied the knot four times throughout his life. He first married Barbara Benjamin in 1964, a union that lasted until their divorce in 1975. He gave love another chance and married actress, Gail Youngs in 1982, but their marriage ended in 1986. Robert married for the third time to dancer, Sharon Brophy, from 1991 to 1995. Eventually, he met the love of his life and the woman who stayed with him till his final moments, his fourth wife, Luciana Pedraza, in 2005. The Argentine actress and filmmaker was 41 years younger than him. The couple had been together since 1997 after meeting in Argentina, and it was Robert's longest marriage, lasting more than two decades.

According to Luciana Pedraza's Facebook post, Robert Duvall died peacefully at his home in Virginia at the age of 95. Although the post did not mention the specific medical details leading to his death, some news reports by Men's Journal claim that he died due to natural causes associated with ageing, yet it is not confirmed. But he passed away surrounded by the love and comfort of his loved ones.
