The gorgeous diva, Yami Gautam has given one after the other power pack performances in her films and web series, including Vicky Donor, Dasvi, A Thursday, and Lost, among others. She was last seen in the Netflix film, Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga. However, despite being part of the industry for more than a decade now, she has also been asked to bring changes in her physical appearance. Now, in an interview, she recalled the same and made a few shocking revelations.
In an interview with The Indian Express, Yami Gautam hinted about making a glorious career in the industry without having any godfather. She mentioned how everyone used to advise the actors at the initial phase of their careers. However, some unnamed persons in the industry had also asked her to get a nose job. So, calling her nose shaped like a pakora, she was advised to get under the knife. But, she instantly refused to do so. In her words:

"Though some might be genuinely interested in helping you out by offering you good advice, while some can be as outlandish as getting a face surgery done. I was advised to get a nose job! There are so many advice floating around (this was one of them)... I have a nose like ‘pakore’ and someone asked me to do something about it. But I flatly refused."

In the same conversation, Yami Gautam talked about those people in the industry, who used to get manipulated by beauty standards. She mentioned that these young actresses are often suggested to undergo surgeries to get more work opportunities. However, Yami is absolutely disappointed with those to take the advice seriously, and instead, she asked them to feel proud in their own skin. Yami stated:
“What is people’s obsession with others faces?! There are girls, people who take it seriously. I feel very bad because you have to look at yourself every day and work. Sometimes if some things go wrong. I mean, it is a personal choice, to each his own, I am no one to comment on anybody else. But I feel it is not right, if you want to do something, that should be your choice. It shouldn’t be coming from anyone, that, ‘Oh, this is what you need to do so then you will get cast or look better.’ I don’t agree with all those things.”
In another interview with journalist, Puja Talwar, Yami Gautam highlighted the growing trend of breaching privacy from the celebrity's life. Sharing a personal incident of her life, Yami mentioned that something similar had happened to her when she was in her hometown in Himachal Pradesh. Opening up about the same, Yami recalled once a teenager had come to her farm and started recording a video without her consent. The actress admitted that the video was ‘bad’, and after it was uploaded, he got a lot of views and wasn’t ashamed of breaching her privacy. However, due to this Vlog, many youngsters started coming to her farm, turning it into a dangerous situation for the actress, as people were not bothered to think about her privacy. Yami revealed that though this is the new trend, but should be done with giving proper respect.

Yami Gautam got hitched to the love of her life, a well-acclaimed director, Aditya Dhar on June 4, 2021. Their wedding took place amidst the hills of Himachal Pradesh, and was attended by their respective families and relatives. For the unversed, the madly-in-love duo fell for each other while working together in the film, URI: The Surgical Strike, wherein Aditya was the film's director and Yami played one of the female leads. Initially, they developed a friendship, which later blossomed into love, and the rest is history.
