Yo Yo Honey Singh revealed that the first time he experienced the symptoms of bipolar disorder was when he was in Chicago. The rapper didn't want to perform that evening, but his team forced him to do so. When he couldn't convince his team, he shaved his head. But even then, Honey Singh's team was telling him to perform with a cap on his head. It was at that moment when Honey Singh couldn't take it and smashed his head with a coffee mug, and it caused him an injury. He said:

"When they took me (Honey Singh) to Chicago for the show, I said, 'I don't want to perform'. Everyone told me that I should get ready, but I refused. My managers came over, and they said, 'Why aren't you getting ready?' I said, 'I'm not going'. I went to the washroom, took a trimmer, and I shaved my hair off."

Returning to the incident, Honey Singh shared that when he and his team informed his sister, Sneha Singh, she was convinced that something was extremely wrong with her brother. Recalling the same, he said:

"I said, 'How will I perform now?' They said, 'Wear a cap and perform'." Honey grabbed on to his chair, and refused to budge. He started yelling that he doesn't want to perform. "There was a coffee mug lying there. I picked it up and smashed it on my head. I was sure that I was going to die during that show. Someone started the rumour that Shah Rukh Khan slapped me. That man loves me, he'll never raise his hand on me."

I thought I'd never be able to meet my parents again. I saw hell. I wished for death every day."

And then he disconnected. I was trying to reach out to Shalini. She said, 'He has to do this show. You convince him to do this show'. I said I can't. He told me that he isn't feeling okay and that something bad is happening. For three hours, there was no contact with them. Three hours later, I'm told that he's in the hospital with stitches in his head."
