Singer Zubeen Garg's demise on September 19, 2025, in a tragic scuba diving accident has left Assam in a state of mourning, and the entire nation shocked. The mortal remains of the singer were flown to Delhi, India, from Singapore on September 20, 2025. Zubeen's body has reached Delhi and is now being taken to Guwahati for the final rites. Now, the funeral rites details have been shared along with the public viewing timings.

Zubeen Garg's last rites to be held in Guwahati, all details disclosed

Assam's Chief Minister, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, on X, shared the details related to Zubeen's last rites farewell. The post revealed that Zubeen's mortal remains will be kept at the Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Sports Complex a.k.a Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati on September 22, 2025. Public viewing is from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and the note spoke about Zubeen being given a farewell of all time. The statement read:

"The Government of Assam, with deep sorrow, informs that the mortal remains of Shri Zubeen Garg, an artist larger than life, a cultural icon, filmmaker, and the eternal heartthrob of millions, will be kept at Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Sports Complex (Sarusajai Stadium) September 21, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, for friends, followers, and admirers to pay their last respects. All are requested to extend their cooperation in ensuring that the final journey of Assam’s beloved son is conducted with dignity and becomes a farewell to be remembered for all time."

Traffic rules to be strictly followed near Zubeen Garg's final rites location

The Chief Minister, on September 21, 2025, at the Delhi International Airport, also paid homage to the mortal remains of Zubeen. His demise is yet to sink in with his sea of fans, and now Zubeen's body is being flown from Delhi to Guwahati in a special flight. Now, according to an ABP News report, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) stated that, given the popularity of Zubeen, there will be a massive turnout of fans at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport.

When Zubeen's mortal remains procession route is taken from his home in Bhagaduttapur to the Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Sports Complex, the crowd is expected to be massive. The traffic police have already issued the set traffic guidelines for managing the highly anticipated crowd and also ensuring that the vehicle movement is entirely smooth.

Zubeen Garg's wife, Garima Saikia Garg, wants his last rites journey to be peaceful

The Ya Ali singer passed away in a shocking scuba diving accident in Singapore at the early age of 52. Zubeen's wife, Garima, in a video posted on his official Facebook page, requested fans to ensure that he has a peaceful farewell. In a video message posted for the fans, Garima urged:

"I am urging everyone—Zubeen is coming home. When he was alive, you all showered him with love and blessings, and Zubeen loved all of you in return. I hope the last rites for his departure go peacefully. The police, along with the state administration, are fully supporting us."

Garima also shared how Zubeen's manager looked for the food and supplies for the singer. This was when he had a seizure, and they had to rush to Mumbai during the COVID times and had also got back the singer via bus from Mumbai.
