Meet IPS officer, Manoj Sharma, who failed in Class 12 but still dared to become an IPS officer

For the unversed, Manoj Sharma, who is an IPS officer, hails from the Morena district of Madhya Pradesh. Right from an early age, he wanted to do something big. However, growing up, he couldn't perform well academically for several reasons. Despite encountering a major setback in his academic journey after failing in class 12, Manoj's determination to become an IPS officer remained unshaken.

Also, even in Classes 9 and 10, Manoj passed with a third division on both occasions. Returning to Manoj's class 12 results, he failed in all subjects except Hindi, which served as his guiding flame. Academically, Manoj started studying again and was pumped to clear class 12; however, on the personal front, he was working as a tempo driver to support his family. It wasn't easy for Manoj, but he cleared class 12 with third division.

When a DSP inspired Manoj Sharma to become a government official

When Manoj Sharma and his brother were running a taxi, the latter was caught by police under false charges after he raised his voice against corrupt officers. It was when DSP Dushyant Singh intervened and helped Manoj's brother avoid getting jailed. When Manoj asked the government official how he reached the position he is today, the SDM advised him to pursue an honest path.

Unfortunately, someone stole all the money, and Manoj was roaming the streets of Gwalior with no help.

With everything wrong that happened to him in Gwalior, Manoj moved to Delhi to study for UPSC to become an IPS officer. In Delhi, he also met his future wife, Shraddha Joshi, who was from Uttarakhand and was also preparing for PCS.
