Kajol and Tanishaa Mukerji's mother, Tanuja made her fans worried when she was admitted to the hospital's ICU ward. The veteran actress' millions of fans were impatiently waiting and praying for her recovery and now it seems that their prayers have worked. She has recovered and was discharged from the hospital. For the unversed, Ajay Devgn's mother-in-law, Tanuja is one such actress, who has managed to etch a beautiful place in many hearts, courtesy of her impeccable acting skills. Even at this age, Tanuja never misses a chance to drool hearts with her fashion sense and poise, whenever she is spotted in public.
Veteran actress, Tanuja has been discharged from the Juhu hospital after being treated for age-related issues. She was released on the night of December 18, 2023. According to a report in PTI, Tanuja's health parameters are normal right now. The source close to the Mukerji family said, “She was discharged from the hospital late last night as all her health parameters were normal." Well, this news is a major relief for fans, who were praying for her quick recovery.

For the unversed, Tanuja was hospitalised due to age-related illness and was admitted to the ICU ward of the Juhu hospital. Earlier, according to a report by the PTI, the 80-year-old actress was admitted to the hospital in Juhu, Mumbai, on the evening of December 17, 2023. However, she was under observation and was recovering well. But no official statement has been released from the Mukerji family till now.
Tanishaa is currently a part of the dance reality show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11, and has been winning hearts with her stellar performances on the show. However, amidst her busy shoot schedule, her mother, Tanuja's admission to the ICU due to age-related issues was a matter of tension for the actress. But she proved her love of her work and appeared for the shoot, despite such issues. Tanishaa was spotted at the sets of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11, in a few glimpses that surfaced on the internet. In the glimpses, although the actress reportedly looked worried for her mother, she showed the courage to smile for the camera. She looked stunning in a pink embellished lehenga choli with a maang teeka, subtle makeup and roses adorned bun hairstyle.

Veteran star, Tanuja is the daughter of filmmaker, Kumarsen Samarth and actress, Shobhna Samarth. She married filmmaker, Shomu Mukherjee, and together they were blessed with two daughters, Kajol and Tanishaa. On the professional front, she began her acting career as a child actor. It was in 1950, when she made her acting debut with the film, Hamari Beti. Afterwards, she worked as an adult in her first film, Hamari Yaad Aayegi, in 1961. Following this, she worked in many Hindi and Bengali-language movies, including Baharein Phir Bhi Ayengi, Jewel Thief, Paisa Ya Pyaar, Haathi Mere Saathi, Deya Neya, Anthony-Firingee, Teen Bhuvaner Parey, and many others. She was last seen in Prime Video's 2022 anthology, Modern Love: Mumbai.
