Netizens react to Aamir Khan's audition

While Aamir Khan is known for his versatility and perfection in a role. Netizens were not pleased with the clip. However, they commended the director, Kiran Rao and the actor himself for making the right decision by picking Ravi. A user stated, "RGV had once said, 'Correct casting gets half work done'. Seeing this, I completely agree. Kuch bhi bolo Mamu mei itni self-awareness hai, unlike Bhoi." Another user said, "Nope, it was rightly rejected by Kiran and by him, too. Ravi Kishan was perfect for this. If Aamir had to play ...he could have done more homework and gotten a dialect coach to play this. But he is looking too elite for a village cop. Ravi Kishan is perfectly suited to this because he is natural in this." A comment stated, "No hard feelings; Aamir is showing he still has it, but Ravi Kishan was on another level! Take a bow!" A commenter pointed out, "He rejected himself."

A user commented, "Nope. I am an Aamir fan, but this is, Nope. I know Aamir sidelined Jaggu Dada and inserted himself in Dhobi Ghat. And ever since I heard that, I haven't stopped thinking how incredible Dada would have been in a role that Aamir barely explored deep enough." Another said, "Also, Aamir Khan playing the role of cop would mean there would be no payoff for the audience when the cop turns out to be good; with Ravi Kishan, the audience always doubted the cop's intentions." A comment read, "Aamir himself said ki he was supposed to do this but the moment he saw Ravi Kishan enacting, he thought he’d be perfect."
