Aamir Khan Once Revealed How Only 5 People Knew About His Wedding With Reena Dutta, 'Ye Shaadi..'

Bollywood actor, Aamir Khan and ex-wife, Reena Dutta's relationship had started off on a filmy note. Reportedly, they used to stare at each other for hours from their windows. An old interview with the actor went viral on Reddit, where Aamir said that he got married on April 18th, 1986. For the unversed, the interview is from 1988. He revealed that he had kept his marriage hidden ahead of the release of his debut film, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. The actor said:

"Yeh shadi ke bare mei sirf 5 log jante thei., Mera matlab hai mei aur Reena ke alava 5 log. 3 joh gawah thei aur 2 aur mere dost. Mere father, Reena ke parents koi nai janta tha meri shadi hui hai. Aur November 1986 mei sabko pata lag chuka tha, family mei. Toh uss time daddy ne yeh kaha tha ki aur Reena ke parents joh mere in laws hai ki yeh shadi announce na kare. Film release hoh jaye."

Aamir then said that he had kept his marriage a secret as he feared people would judge him that a married boy is coming as a lead hero in his first film. He had got apprehensive about the same.

When Aamir Khan revealed his then-wife, Reena Dutta was also in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak

Aamir Khan's blockbuster movie, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak made him an overnight sensation. Going ahead in the interview, the actor shared that it did not bother him if people came to know about his marriage with Reena. However, he did not want to take the risk as it was his first film. Aamir said:

"Sablog ne mehnat ki hai. Ess film pe bura asar na padhei. Yeh decide kia tha ki film release hoh jaye, log dekh le accept kar le film ko. Uske baad admit kare aur wahi maine kia. Film release hui. Humne kuch khas chupaya nai tha. Friend circle mei sabko maloom tha, rishtedaro mei, Reena aati thi shooting mei bhi. Ek shot mei bhi hai Papa Kehte Gaana mei."

In the end, Aamir said if his marriage with Reena had been out in the public before his first film, it would not have affected him. However, if he had a choice to choose between his career and wife, he would choose Reena.

Aamir Khan had given up on Reena Dutta

Aamir was on the verge of giving up on his romance with Reena. However, in the end, she said yes to him, and in an interview back in 1999, the actor shared an interesting thing. He said he spent a little more time in front of his window and told Reena he loved her and hoped she felt the same.
