Did Aarti Ravi Ask For Rs. 40 Lakh Monthly For Alimony From Ravi Mohan? Here's What We Know So Far

Ravi Mohan and Aarti Ravi's marital issues and divorce have become the new talk of the town. What started as a quiet split between the duo has turned into a full-blown public controversy where new details are being added at every moment. Ravi and Aarti, both have shared public statements with major allegations against each other. At the same time, Ravi's alleged girlfriend, Keneeshaa Francis, their parents, sons, and more people are being dragged into the matter. The former couple, who were once admired for their low-key marriage, have now got engaged in a bitter divorce case and a news report has now shared more insights into their divorce proceedings. 

Did Aarti Ravi ask for Rs. 40 lakh monthly for alimony? 

Amid Aarti Ravi and Ravi Mohan's cross-allegations against each other, the duo allegedly took part in their divorce proceedings. For those unaware, the actor had filed for divorce from Aarti in the Chennai Family Welfare Court after announcing separation in September 2024. As per the regular divorce proceedings format, they were asked to visit the reconciliation centre and explore the chance to settle their marital issues through mediation. However, that seems a forgone option after their recent allegations against each other. Now, according to a recent report by News 18, the former couple attended a recent hearing at the 3rd Additional Family Welfare Court in Chennai.

During the proceedings, the presiding judge, Thenmozhi, listened the actor's formal divorce petition, where he had listed the reasons behind his decision to seek divorce. Amid other things, the petition highlighted that a reconciliation was not possible between him and Aarti. Meanwhile, the same report has alleged that Aarti has filed a counter-petition seeking Rs.  40 lakhs from Ravi for financial support after their legal separation. The court has considered both petitions and has asked the duo to provide a written response before the next hearing in the case. The next hearing in Aarti Ravi and Ravi Mohan's divorce case will reportedly take place on June 12, 2025.

Aarti Ravi countered Ravi Mohan's allegations against her 

Aarti Ravi and Ravi Mohan's divorce created a new controversy after the latter made a joint appearance in matching outfits with his alleged girlfriend, Keneeshaa. It reignited their dating rumours and prompted Aarti to share a tell-all note about their marriage. She revealed that unlike the new reports calling her Ravi's ex-wife and trollers calling her a 'gold digger', she is not yet divorced from Ravi. At the same time, she alleged that Ravi has not provided any financial support to her and their sons, leaving her alone. The latter replied with another note and mentioned that she and her mother had depleted all his finances and abused him. In his words:

"For years, I faced silent battles and ruthless manipulation behind the scenes, including conveniently coercing me to sign as a surety for her mother's multi-crore loan a year ago. In all that I am going through right now and standing at a place completely stripped of my finances, 10 days ago, her mother forced me to act and compensate for the surety I gave for her loans. This is what she and her family are all about. When they need money/surety/signatures, they need the name Ravi Mohan. This is the life I struggled living in for the past 16 years."

Aarti Ravi clapped back at Ravi Mohan's allegations 

After Ravi, Aarti Ravi shared another note on her social media countering his claims. She mentioned that money, power or anything else wasn't the reason behind the separation. Instead, an outside force in the form of Keneeshaa Francis broke it. Aarti claimed that she had proof to support her claim. Moreover, she stated that she was called a controlling wife by Ravi while she was protecting him against harmful habits, and their social media proves that they had a happy marriage after tying the knot in 2009. Amid the note, She penned:

"He claims abuse and isolation? Then why wait all these years to leave? Why celebrate anniversaries, attend family vacations, and continue to share a life if the environment was unlivable? A man with every resource at his disposal stayed until he was confronted. That was the moment he chose to walk-not out of fear, but because the secret was no longer safe."
